LFT after covid

My husband had covid a couple of weeks ago, he's still being told to do LFT for work and has now tested positive on a LFT. Does this mean anything? I always thought that you weren't meant to carry on doing LFT after you've had it. I'm so confused 🙄

Did he test negative after having it?

When we all had it, we ensured that we tested at day ten to make sure we were all negative. Then we would know if a positive was a new case

Yes he did, just seems strange to have it so soon. It always used to be advice not to do LFT for 90 days as you could get a false positive. A bit of Googling suggests that you can still test positive when you aren't

I thought the 90 days were only for PCR not LF. Chances are he has it again.

BluebellsGreenbells · 06/01/2022 22:14

Chances are it’s the new strain happening to everyone

... sure he has it again within two weeks Hmm.

Come Monday and he produces another positive lft he'll be back in isolation counted as another covid case when it's most probably a false result..... the world has well and truly lost it!

The govt directly contradicts itself in their advice from one month to the next and we just go along with anything they say now.

You can test negative and then positive again. The lft can continue to pick up dead virus for weeks. Same as a pcr.

Fedupsotired · 06/01/2022 22:32

It's mad isn't it.
@PinkButtercups it was definitely no LFT at my work if you had it, that was government guidance.

I just can't believe he will have it twice within 3 weeks, seems ridiculous!!!!!

That's exactly what I thought!
