Indoor sports matches etc like the darts which has just been on. 3000 people under one roof. Would you feel ok going to it as things are?

Nope.

1forAll74 · 06/01/2022 17:17

No, especially inside events.

Lacedwithgrace · 06/01/2022 17:17

Absolutely not

RamblingFar · 06/01/2022 17:20

No

MyGreenTutu · 06/01/2022 17:23

I have been to gigs, ones booked a long time ago and I didn't want to waste the tickets. This was back in Oct / Nov. But the way things are in London at the moment, I don't even want to go to a restaurant or pub; almost everyone I know seems to have a family member with covid! So no, I wouldn't, not at the moment.

Rabblesthecat · 06/01/2022 17:34

Yes because whether You go or not, you’ll be exposed to omicron before this whole thing is over. No one will escape catching it it so why not just enjoy. 99.99% of people will have a cold

Fizzbo · 06/01/2022 17:35

I’ve been everywhere and have been very sociable over the Christmas and New Year period. I’m enjoying life and wouldn’t avoid going anywhere. I’m triple jabbed and haven’t had Covid. Lateral flow’d up until mid December and then stopped. I won’t be doing any more.

poorchurchmouse · 06/01/2022 17:38

Yes. I want to live my life, it’s bad enough to have wasted nearly two years without cowering under the duvet for still more time. I had Covid in the spring of 2020, really haven’t ever been worried about it.

Pootle40 · 06/01/2022 17:41

Yes

KurtWilde · 06/01/2022 17:41

For everyone saying 'no', when do you intend to start, if ever? Do you not have DC who go into school? Do you not go out to work? Food shopping?

Absolutely no judgement, one of my siblings hasn't been out at all since lockdown 2020, so it's not alien to me. I'm just curious as to how you can live life never having to be in any crowded places. Sibling has developed agoraphobia due to this and it's quite a sad thing to see when they used to enjoy being out and about so much just 2 years ago.

PatchworkElmer · 06/01/2022 17:43

No, I’ve just sold my ticket to an event where there will be 100 attendees this weekend.

Fl0w3ry · 06/01/2022 17:45

No. I can’t imagine myself ever feeling ready for something like that now. It is sad really, but I really don’t think I would ever think it was worth the risk. I approach everything in life now this way. The only way I would attend something like that and think it was worth the risk would be if it was to see my DC taking part in something.

Bobholll · 06/01/2022 17:46

Yes absolutely. I’ve had covid twice, I can’t say I’m worried about getting it again. I went to a 2500 seater panto at Christmas. Hundreds of kids screaming at the actors, not many masks on the adults. Very crowded at times as people moved around the theatre for the interval etc.

Didn’t get covid.

Blubells · 06/01/2022 17:52

Yes

I know I can't avoid omicron. It's very transmissible and likely to become the dominant strain.

MarshaBradyo · 06/01/2022 17:55

I’m not high risk but I also think I’m protected as I will be with booster still there not waning yet

I’ve also been in close contact with positive cases with dc and no effect

I’m relieved overall things are still going ahead

Giveaschitt · 06/01/2022 18:00

Yes. I've had covid and barely noticed so for me, the prospect of catching covid at any event is no more worrying than any other virus I might pick up. It's never crossed mind to worry about that in the past, and now feel the same about covid. Mildly inconvenient because of having to isolate, bit that's it.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2022 18:33

For everyone saying 'no', when do you intend to start, if ever? Do you not have DC who go into school? Do you not go out to work? Food shopping?

Once this current wave is over. I have a DC who brought covid home from school in September and at that time the risk of reinfection seemed tiny. Now we know that the risk is higher I'd rather avoid it if I can because I don't want to have to isolate again, I don't want to have to organise online shopping again and I don't want my DD to miss any more school. I think going to an indoor gig isn't really comparable to going shopping.

WheelieBinPrincess · 06/01/2022 18:33

What if there’s another wave after that? And another variant? Then another wave?

Geamhradh · 06/01/2022 18:34

@maddy68

I do. But I live in Spain. Really don't think I would feel as confident back in the UK
This for me too. I'd be much more worried in the UK.
MarshaBradyo · 06/01/2022 18:36

I'd be much more worried in the UK.

Where are you, Italy? Don’t you have high cases too

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2022 18:39

What if there’s another wave after that? And another variant? Then another wave?

I'll enjoy life between the waves until a time when covid becomes just another part of life. Which it will do one day.

nordica · 06/01/2022 18:41

No but I rarely went before covid times so it doesn't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Not a fan of clubbing or sports events or similar, and even though I enjoy the theatre I haven't been for about 6 years.

hertsgirls · 06/01/2022 18:41

Yes. Maskless would be fine too (although would still wear a mask if required as I know it is important to others).

MichaelAndEagle · 06/01/2022 18:41

Yea. I'm going to catch it eventually. May as well get omicron.

Quartz2208 · 06/01/2022 18:42

Why more worried about the UK. Europe is exploding in the same way? France/Italy/Spain all the same.

Is it mask wearing then?
