Indoor sports matches etc like the darts which has just been on. 3000 people under one roof. Would you feel ok going to it as things are?

Not at the moment, have a health condition that means having Covid in the house, me or the kids, would be difficult. I also don’t want to infect older relatives. I did go into packed pubs in December though, but it did make me a bit nervous.

HoldingTheDoor · 06/01/2022 15:36

It wouldn't bother me at all. I've had Covid twice now, including "long Covid/PVFS. I'd be happy to go.

MarshaBradyo · 06/01/2022 15:37

Yes

MakkaPakkas · 06/01/2022 15:38

Yeah I would if it was something I enjoyed.

Tinsellittis · 06/01/2022 15:39

Definitely not

bigbluebus · 06/01/2022 15:40

We backed out of going to a concert last month as we didn't want to risk catching Covid before Christmas (as wanted to visit 93 year old MIL).
We are due to go to DS's Graduation in 2 week's time and not sure how many will be there but expect a full hall. I hope everyone will be masked.

We are working on the basis that we'll go to things we need to go to rather than just nice to go to.

MarshaBradyo · 06/01/2022 15:40

We’re going to theatre soon, given predictions by some i wasn’t sure it would happen so I’ll be really glad if it does

Moppiehen · 06/01/2022 15:40

Not sure. We’ve had it twice, don’t want it again but I have 3 dc in secondary school so they are in crowded spaces every day.

AuntieMarys · 06/01/2022 15:40

Yes. Wouldn't be worried or concerned at all

Cribbly · 06/01/2022 15:42

Yes, have done and can't wait for more.

SirChenjins · 06/01/2022 15:43

Worth it’ is relative though isn’t it? It might not be worth it to you but there are events that would definitely be worth it for me whether I caught covid or not

Which is why I very clearly said imo - I was talking about what would go. What others choose to do is irrelevant to me.

SirChenjins · 06/01/2022 15:43
  • I would do
Quartz2208 · 06/01/2022 15:45

@maddy68

I do. But I live in Spain. Really don't think I would feel as confident back in the UK
Why what is the difference? By all accounts Spain is about a week or so behind with cases.

To answer the question - yes I am triple vaxxed and covid recovered. Yes I may get it again but its no going anywhere. I am happy to wear a mask etc

Adododoadahdahdah · 06/01/2022 15:46

No.

I know 5 people who currently have Covid after just having Christmas dinner with family so I wouldn’t fancy my chances at a crowded event.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 06/01/2022 15:46

Yes I would but then I'm not bothered about catching covid, which is lucky as I've got it now for the 2nd time from my son who probably caught it from a hospital appointment last week

BitterTits · 06/01/2022 15:46

Yes, I work in a school with 1500+ people. I'd rather catch Covid having fun.

WhatHaveIFound · 06/01/2022 15:52

No, not at the moment. Had tickets to a gig this month and was relieved when it was called off. Am limiting where I go now until this peak is over.

Logically I know that it might not affect me too much as i'm triple jabbed but my son is still suffering from Long Covid 15 months after infection and it's heartbreaking to see.

DistantSkye · 06/01/2022 15:53

I think so, yes. Partly because I've had covid recently so assume I'm unlikely to catch it again so soon?

I don't take it lightly and wear masks etc but as long as events are going on I'd be happy to go. I think people should do LFTs first where possible.

Bit Confused at the question "Does a classroom count?" and that's as a teacher! Obviously a class/es of 30 or so kids isn't the same as an event of hundreds/thousands!

Exhausteddog · 06/01/2022 15:55

Right now? Probably. But only because we have all just had covid, presumably Omicron over christmas. Today was my first day out of isolation (still feel lousy) so rightly or wrongly I feel like the odds of catching it again in the next few weeks at least are slim.

Same here. We've got covid now so I've just booked the theatre for a couple of weeks time as I will be less paranoid about getting it.

Bailey48 · 06/01/2022 15:56

@vickyc90

Yup not bothered about catching COVID because it's inevitable anyway so might aswell enjoy myself
Exactly living my life now
IShouldProbablyHooverMore · 06/01/2022 16:01

Yes, absolutely.

ferneytorro · 06/01/2022 16:08

Yes have been to gigs at the 02 and men and been to theatre . Have a trip to London next month to the theatre. I cannot understand why I’ve not caught it although I am wfh so perhaps it nets off!

changingstages · 06/01/2022 16:11

Not massively comfortable, no - though DD and DSD have both had it in the last 5 weeks and didn't catch it so the booster seems to be doing its job! But DD was really, really unwell so I'm not feeling very comfortable about it all (we think, but don't know for sure, that DD had Delta so am nervous about reinfection as she is still hasn't completely recovered).

I'd definitely want everyone to be masked - why wouldn't you? The rabid anti-maskers on here are a bit mad.

Snailhaterz2 · 06/01/2022 16:17

Not 100% comfortable, but I've booked for the theatre in early February regardless, as I really want to see a particular play. I went last autumn and found that after feeling a bit uncomfortable initially I relaxed very quickly and enjoyed it. I will be booking for more!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 06/01/2022 16:19

No not at this moment when 1 in 15 people in England have covid and omicron is so transmissible. I went to a couple of gigs back in Sept after recovering from covid and will organise for some more when this wave is subsiding. But I wouldn't want to go now.
