Positive LFT and negative LFT in same day!

Anyone experienced this?

It's happened today with my 6 year old!

Mon - negative LFT
Wed - positive am
Negative pm

I'm so confused!

PCR booked for tomorrow anyhow!

Lft can give false negative tests
Less likely to be a false positive

That's exactly what I thought!

Yes it happened to me, I had a really faint line on my LFT so I did another to double check and that was negative.
Booked the PCR for the next day and that came back positive

If they had eaten or drunk something acidic just before the test then that can skew the result, I think.

Was it a really faint positive?

My dd did. Very faint and nothing on any other lft. Negative pcr. She was having her breakfast and OJ but a nasal only swab X

We actually took 2 this morning and both were really faint positive.
He has no symptoms.
He'd not actually eaten breakfast before his test!

Yes, this morning faint positive, this evening negative! I’ve ordered a PCR anyway, hope it doesn’t take long to arrive (drive in centres were over an hour away).
