Lft order and collect service

So that’s twice now when I’ve ordered from a local pharmacy, got a collect code, got there only to find out they have none? What’s the point... anyone else had trouble with this?

I don't think the code is an order as such, it's just so they can track where they're going when they're being handed out.

It's not like argos. It's not an individual code which reserves you a box. It simply allows you to pick one up if the pharmacist has them in stock.

The order isn't specific to any one pharmacy, you can go anywhere - it's so the government can track how many each pharmacy gives out against deliveries (they pay per box distributed)

It's not a reserved order that's why. It's simply a permission to have a pack IF they have any themselves when you get there. There were some available online when I ordered a few minutes ago though.

Local libraries also have stock in my area.

My pharmacy hasn’t had any for a while now and the assistant was quite annoyed that I even asked last week, as they have lots of posters up saying no LFT. I order now for home delivery, I wish they did bigger packs as there is 4 of us here.

You can order 1 per person, per day for online orders its not 1 per household. We just order 3 boxes of tests on the same day when we need them.

I don’t know why the website has a ‘get order code’ link by each of the pharmacies which show up in the search list. It kind of makes you think you can only go to that pharmacy.
Took me a bit to work out through experience that -
It’s not an ‘order’ in usual sense - ther may be none.
That code can be used at another pharmacy.
That code can be used days later if you’ve not found any in the interim.
No one in my experience (central London here) has any kind of reader to scan the code. Everyone has written down the number on a list. Pharmacist at a boots said they have to enter all data at the end of the day - manually. This just seems madness ??!!
