How do you book second vaccine for teen (15) via Covid-19 vaccine booking system?

DS (15) will be 12 weeks from his first Covid-19 vaccination, which was in school, in mid-January. Now trying to book a second dose - but when I do book using his NHS number it comes up as a first dose on the system.

Am I missing something - and if so, what? I know it's the same, but want to make sure we have two doses registered on the system so we can go on holiday this summer... Thanks all.

It sounds like his first dose hasn't been recorded on the system. I had the same issue with my DS.

You will need to call 119. They have a data resolution service who should be able to sort it out for you although it may take 2 to 3 weeks. My DS was able to have his second dose while we were waiting for the data issue to be resolved though. Hopefully yours will too.

In Wales I just rang our Health Board’s booking line. They had all of his details ,and booked him in (and his little brother who was only 9 1/2 weeks from his first dose). I was chuffed to bits to get them both done without them having caught it.

Thanks both! I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Quick update for anyone with the same question. Called 119 (National Booking Line), went through to the menu option for people who are having trouble booking a further dose because of a data problem with the first dose (eg it not being put onto the system properly), gave my/DS' details and someone will call back within 21 days to sort out how the first dose is recorded.

In the meantime DS can go to a walk in clinic with the card from the first jab/NHS number and should be able to get a second dose that goes on the system properly – once 12 weeks from the first jab are up next week.
