Passing covid back and forth?

This may be a really stupid question! So my father in law came to stay with us and arrived with covid (had tested neg the day before he came). My husband contracted it and I have tested positive today. FiL is feeling a lot better but still testing faintly positive, I hope he will be neg today which is his Day 7.
As I caught it from him (we all
Isolated as soon as he tested positive but not from each other as he needs looking after) can I give it back to him after he tests negative? I would think not but my mind is in overdrive!
