Omicron - incubation period?

We as a family were in close contact on 1 and 2 Jan with someone who tested positive on 2 Jan. It’s v likely omicron as they had delta mid September. We will do our daily LFT for 7 days but when do you think we can breathe more easily. I know omicron is shorter incubation than delta. Was thinking by Thursday (so 5 days from first exposure) we will probably know either way?

There was a report of a DJ going to New Zealand & testing positive for omicron after coming out of his 7 day hotel quarantine (it may even have been over 10 days, I can't remember). I would think you were fairly safe after 7 days though (otherwise we wouldn't be allowed out then).

We had a case 3 days after contact with positive case. Didn’t go anywhere else so definitely caught it from positive contact
