Ending isolation early - Northern Ireland

Dc is now on day 8 of isolation and had a negative lateral flow test this morning, with very faint positives on day 6 and 7. We are in NI and isolation rules changed a few days ago, so isolation can end early with neg lft on days 6 and 7. Does his isolation still last the full 10 days as it was day 8 before the neg result? I've read a few conflicting views so I'm not really sure what this means for him. Rest of household is negative.

English guidance says you can try again on day 7, if neg do one day 8, a neg = bingo!

Sorry that doesn't really help though, hope someone there knows....

I still think it has to be 2 days negative, so day 8 and 9 in your DC case, but out of isolation in any case day 10 unless DC has continued symptoms or doesn’t feel well.

Aaah that makes more sense!
