Covid & periods question

So I know that both covid and the vaccine can have an effect on periods. I've got PCOS and endo, but have been fairly consistent with my periods for a couple m years. 4-6 weeks ago I had back to back cold and sinus infection. Nothing to write home about. It was just annoying that they dragged out for nearly a month.

I just started my period yesterday, and the first day or two are usually heavy so I use sueper plus tampons but only change them every 6hrs. I've just been to the loo to discover I've completely soaked through the tampon I only put in an hour ago. Soaked through the liner as well and ruined my knickers. TMI but also a good sized clot had come out with the tampon.

Has anyone experienced period issues with omicron or very mild corona? I kept testing negative on LFT back then when I had my 'cold', but now wondering if my period has been effected by it. I'm not vaxx'd so it so won't be the jab for sure.

I don’t have PCOS or endo. But ~10 years ago, after being very very regular (times and consistency) I randomly had the period from hell for I think it was 3 cycles on the trot. Hadn’t been sick. Wasn’t stressed. Literally zero reason for it. Just random and then settled back to my normal. It happens, but I understand the worry and frustration!

I started bleeding on about day 8 of my cycle when I had covid and bled for 16 days. Npt especially heavy though. I have been referred for tests but I've been wondering if it was a covid effect as the vaccine also affected me. So I'd also be interested to read if anyone else noticed a change to their bleeding with covid.

Mine were affected by the jabs but you said you're not jabbed. It's also been affect by Covid though.
I've just recovered from mild Covid (I guess omicron, just felt like a heavy cold) and my period came on unexpectedly after about day 5 of Covid. SUPER heavy. Soaking through a super tampon in 3 hours (unusual for me) and lasted a few days longer than usual

I’ve had Pfizer but not the booster and haven’t had covid despite two of my children having it.

I don’t know if it’s related but since the vaccine in July my endometriosis has been worse than ever after being kept under control for 6 months following ablation and medication. It’s gradually improving but is still far worse than before and I have no idea why.

I had the famous “supercold” which ran straight into covid and then the worst period of my life- flooding, enormous clots, just awful.

Thanks for the replies ladies. I'm wondering if I may have had covid and just not realised. I soaked through my tampon last night, and then two more today. Strange!

But I have PCOS and endometriosis so have experienced horrific periods most of my life before children and going on the pill. Flooding, and drastic changes to my cycle, and doctors not knowing enough about what's causing them have been one of the reasons why I've held off on getting the jab.

That being said, things seem to be tapering off with the speed of flow

Yes I have covid and my period right now heavier than usual and clots coming out with the tampon

SSCCLL · 02/01/2022 21:37

Mine has also been off. Clots with Covid and after the vaccine.

LaBelleSausage · 02/01/2022 21:46

Both covid and the jabs made my periods nightmarishly heavy.

Absolutely a disgusting overshare but after having covid the clots were so bad I felt like slugs were slowly falling out of me. And on day 21 of a cycle that's usually 29/30 days.

I would have thought it was a loss if it had been possible for me to be pregnant.

And I've just tested positive again today! SadI'm considering getting some maternity pads in.
