When to isolate until?

I started with symptoms on 27th, PCR 28th, positive result 29th. My isolation finishes 6th Jan. Today my daughter had a positive lft, couldn’t get a drive thru pcr booked so ordered one to home. When it arrives and we do it then send off, what will be the date for her isolation? With no symptoms you go by pcr but with limited stock, bank holiday etc it will be delayed so surely not ten days from test result!?
That said she was hot when I put her to bed tonight and had a temp of 38.5 so perhaps symptoms are starting and I could count from there anyway?! Thank you!

10 days from the date the test was taken, not when you get the result! 7 if she meets the criteria for that.

Cookerhood · 01/01/2022 22:38

Are you double vaccinated? If you test negative on day 6 & 7 you can stop.isolating.

Ringonrighthand · 01/01/2022 22:51

Yeah I am so I know I could stop on Tuesday if I’m negative but she’s only 10 and not had pcr yet just lat flow so I wasn’t sure when hers would end? I’m a single mum so I have no choice but to isolate with her 😩

From date of test Or symptoms whichever is earlier. So if she had a fever today it would start from today

dementedpixie · 01/01/2022 22:56

It's from the date of her positive LFT

You can use the positive lateral flow test date.

Hopefully she won’t get symptoms. If she does, the ten days rests then.

Frazzled2207 · 01/01/2022 22:58

Sorry yeah first day of positive lft or symptoms or day of test whichever came first

Ringonrighthand · 01/01/2022 23:01

Brilliant so it starts today, thank you all 🤞🏽

Sorry, I’ve just spotted she’s developed a temperature today. That’s definitely a symptom. Today is day zero.

You have to ask yourself what would Boris do?

And then carry on as normal.

Ringonrighthand · 02/01/2022 06:34

@jgw1 I don’t think I ever want to do what Boris does!
I just really was more concerned about school if they would have to wait to go by pcr results or would accept lft positive as the start and it sounds like they would 🤞🏽
