Hi guys

I’m currently on day 4 and so far days 1-2 I had a headache and day 3 a few episodes of going really hot .
I unluckily caught it day 9 of isolating from my husbands positive test 🙈
Today nothing new but i have a baby so I’m worried it’s going to hit me ??
Does anyone have any idea when it might get worse??
Thankyou xx

I'm currently at day 7 and have felt pretty much the same level of grimness throughout (mostly waves of crushing fatigue, general low mood and a slightly scratchy throat). Today a bit of mucus is on my chest - that's new. I am in my early 50s and was boosted about 5 weeks ago.

It's going to vary for everyone, and to be honest I think you need to plan for what you will do if it does get worse, but otherwise carry on without worrying. It's very easy to get hyper-vigilant - if everyone who came on here said "ooh, it gets really bad around day 8" then you would be on tenterhooks at day 8 and every little thing could be magnified. Whereas in fact only the people who got bad on day 8 might post here, and all the myriad of people who just slowly got better say nothing. Leaving you with the impression that day 8 is the magic day.

Hope you feel better soon.

I felt rough up until about 4-5 days then got better after that so hopefully be the same for you op.

I am on day 5 now and feeling much better today. I have taking regular paracetamol and ibuprofen. I had awful sweats and temperature from overheating to freezing cold. The muscle and back pain is easing too. No nausea but loss of appetite and barely a cough. Bit of a runny nose. DH is still struggling and he is on day 7. All 4 dc have it but after 24-48hours are fine today.

Hopefully your over the worst and better soon.

My first time round in January 2021 I was unwell, but not awful, for the first 7 days then I gradually felt worse until day 10 when my oxygen levels plummeted and I was advised by my GP to get my DH to drive me to hospital (as it would be quicker) to get checked out. Luckily I was out by the end of the day but was poorly for a further week before I started to feel better. The breathlessness and raging temperatures were awful.

I've just had it for the second time over Xmas and I honestly felt like I just had a head cold with a scratchy throat for 3 days then completely back to normal. I must admit I was very anxious when I tested positive this time round due to my experience last time but this time felt completely different and I have had worse colds. Whether this was because I caught the Omicron variant this time or my booster kicked in I will never know.

my worst days were days 3 and 4 , slight imorovement form day 5-6, much better day 7 and almost fully better on day 8.
Hopefully you are almost over the worst of it now. Grin
