Good evening,

In need of some advice as 119 is unavailable.

My 4yo started with a headache on Wednesday, lateral flow delivered yesterday and she has tested positive. I have finally managed to book a pcr for tomorrow. I expect that will be positive too.

When will her isolation start from?

TIA

The day symptoms started is day zero.

Depends if they count the headache as a symptom as its not one of the 3 main ones. They might count from positive LFT

Look at the government website for details, but does this help?

Agree with Cookerhood....day 0 is the headache start date, as directly associated with the positive LFT.

dementedpixie · 01/01/2022 17:15

Again, it depends if headache is counted as a symptom. If it does then day 0 is Wednesday. If it doesn't then day 0 is the day of LFT

If you are in Scotland the headache is not a symptom so would not be the 1st date of isolation . The positive Lateral would be first date if registered on the Government website if it wasn’t the PCR date would be when isolation starts

Thank you for the helpful replies. Would test and trace establish if the headache is counted as a symptom?

@Cookerhood that is useful. Thank you.

My 9yo tested positive on 1st October. Myself and DD managed to avoid it back then. How likely is he to catch it again from personal experiences?

No one is going to police what date you go with. You can go with the date of the headache or the date of the test.
