Anyone presented the wrong test against QR code at PCR test site?

I stupidly did this yesterday.

Presented my code with DH's test. Only realised after it was scanned.

The stewards said to just scan my test against DH's and it would be fine as we would know we have each other's result when they come.

Has anyone else done this? Could it be amended retrospectively if Test & Trace call?

I'm expecting a positive (symptoms and positive LFT), whereas DH had a negative LFT and had no symptoms.

I wouldn't trust Test and Trace to amend anything to be honest

womaninatightspot · 31/12/2021 09:44

I've done this but with children. In Scotland so theyd all have to isolate together anyway so was a bit meh about it. Were all negative in the end despit temp/ cough so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

It is an absolute pain and test & trace will not cope. All they can do is fill in a form.

However, as adults you will be sent an online form. Make sure you fill that in instead of waiting for the phone call. That will at least give it the right name (as you can change on the form).

Dd ended up testing + on a test booked in my name (Long boring story) & though they could cope with ringing & asking for her name, they couldn’t cope with her having a different dob even though I had changed both name & dob (& given correct nhs number etc) on the form. Their systems are rubbish.

Yes, I mixed my twins one up so the positive came up negative and vice versa. Track and trace were just confused and asked me to repeat the tests lol.

Thank you for the responses.

Depending on local PCR availability, we'll probably get retested if the results are different.

Yes DH and I did this. As expected “mine” came back positive even though I had no symptoms at the time and he was poorly. However now we are all ill so it doesn’t seem worth taking any action to correct the results as we are all isolating.

I suspect I've done this when swabbing myself and multiple kids, then losing track of whose kit on the table was whose. We would have all had to isolate if one was positive at that point anyway, I supppose. Luckily all came back negative.

cliffdiver · 31/12/2021 14:56

Results came through.

As expected, DH is negative and I'm positive (but test results showing as DH being positive and me being negative).

I've managed to get a last minute PCR this afternoon.

I also completed DH's Test and Trace form, but changed the details to mine.

DH waiting for a phone call from T&T, whereby he can hopefully try and explain that he doesn't have to isolate.
