Angry I am so fucking over this now! I have barely even been out since Xmas so I don’t even know where I could’ve caught it from this time, but I had covid in September 2020, then again in August 2021 and I’ve just had another positive today

I’m actually losing the will, I’ve had both jabs plus booster, wear a mask, use hand gel out and about and wash my hands first thing after coming in the house, plus all the other shite you’re supposed to do - what is even the point?!
Angry

Gosh that seems so unlikely, I'm sorry. I wonder if some people are more susceptible to getting it than others.
Proudcarer6829 · 30/12/2021 21:23

Sorry I meant 'unlucky' not unlikely

m00rfarm · 30/12/2021 21:23

I understand you can test positive up to 90 days after recovery whilst not actually having covid.

Porcupineintherough · 30/12/2021 21:24

Sorry. The point is that you dont die or end up perminent damaged I guess.

GreenLunchBox · 30/12/2021 21:24

Sorry to hear that. What were your symptoms like each time?

AtlasPine · 30/12/2021 21:25

How are you feeling? Were you more ill the first time? It’s such a weird virus- sorry you’re going through this. I’m the opposite - have had lots of contact throughout (working in school, contact with children and grandchildren who had it) but never had it.

GreenLunchBox · 30/12/2021 21:25

Are you positive this time on lft or PCR?

UpToMyEye · 30/12/2021 21:25

Yes I wondered that too @Proudcarer6829 and I also think some people are almost naturally immune - DH for example hasn’t caught it from me either time despite sharing a bed etc, it’s very odd
This is not what I would’ve wanted to be ‘the chosen one’ in life about, can’t I be the anomaly who wins the lottery three times instead Grin

Are you having symptoms ,?my son tested Positive last week for the second time ,first time was in July very few symptoms either time ,the isolating is a pita 😭

UpToMyEye · 30/12/2021 21:30

Oh sorry lots of x posts

Was quite ill the first time, but only for 36 hours or so, had a fever but had a cough for weeks and weeks after and everything tastes weird, didn’t lost the senses, it all just tasted off!
The second time I just felt a bit rough for a few days, maybe 4? Almost a hungover kind of rough, but definitely not stay in bed sick kind of feeling, totally lost my sense of taste and smell this time
This time I just keep sweating, not even a temperature as such, I just keep going clammy all over and have had a pretty persistent headache

Only positive on a lft so far, PCRs are like hens teeth where I live atm

@m00rfarm I’ve had all negatives in between the last one and this one, I have to test 3x a week

I think I'm the opposite, not caught it once. Husband currently has it so I guess this will be the real test.

HairyToity · 30/12/2021 21:39

Crikey. Poor you. We all had covid December 2020, and DH and I were both quite ill (thankfully not hospitalised). DH now thinks he has it again. He has been for a PCR today. Not showing up on lateral flows though. He's triple vaccinated.

MrsPsmalls · 30/12/2021 21:41

It's a bugger isn't it? I work in a hospital and quite a lot of us ( not me thank god) have had it three times.

Legoninjago1 · 30/12/2021 21:41

Ah that is crap for you OP I'm sorry. When was your booster?

Proudcarer6829 · 30/12/2021 21:48

None of us have yet, touchwood and lots of close encounters. I have pcr every week for work, and 3 weekly lft too and never had a positive. My daughter spent a whole day closely with someone who later tested positive that evening and she had pcr and 10 days of testing and nothing.
VenusInfers · 30/12/2021 21:51

Wow. And I thought I was unlucky getting it twice.
Utter sympathy Flowers

Sparklingwaterforme · 30/12/2021 23:55

Sorry that's so rubbish. I have tested positive after last having it end of September so literally I think I was one day out of my 90 days! Feel worse this time

Kittykitty76 · 31/12/2021 00:05

A positive test is not always 100% positive though, bear it in mind.If you're feeling ok and no symptoms, it doesn't really matter, but I know self isolation is very annoying.Fingers crossed it'll be mild!
