Just that really.

Our children need to be home educated during this period. Schools do not have sufficient, if any, mitigations in place (through no fault of their own) and attendance has driven this wave. The consequences of this virus are far too severe for many for the government to be complacent any longer.
Speak for yourself. Mine needs to be in school.
Indoctro · 31/12/2021 08:25

I didn't before Xmas but I do now as I think if they weren't they would of had to given a heads up about it by now. Kids are back in 5 days where I live.

UserError012345 · 31/12/2021 08:26

Yes of course.

You can do this if you feel this strongly and homeschool.

You should home educate then, perhaps you’d like to do that until your kids have aged out of the school system to be really ‘safe’?
But don’t stretch your opinion to other people’s children who need to be in school

"Home educated" for the vast majority = not educated.

This. Don't talk for my child, she doesn't need to be home educated, she needs to go to school. Sick to death of our children constantly being expected to put their lives on hold. You remind me of our local village busy body who was very vocal this time last year that schools should be closed and she pulled her children out and was going to home educate. Imagine my anger when I found out a couple of weeks into the closure that she had done a u turn and was now sending her children into school. So in her opinion school should be open for her kids but shut for everyone else's.

Behave, pull your children out and home school if you want them to be at home.

Ha yes a lot of that on here too. If anyone feels compelled to offer up closed schools for other people, just let us use school and you stay home.

Hellocatshome · 31/12/2021 08:42

@0ncloud9 feel free to home educate your child. It is your right to decide to do this at any time.

But the variant of this wave is mild. You home school your child, the rest of us will continue as normal!
ASDmam · 31/12/2021 08:50

Our school isn’t going back until the 6th (earliest) in wales for extra precautions to be arranged.

TerfetyTERF · 31/12/2021 08:54

@Staryflight445

Not sure how it’ll work for secondary schools/ colleges and unis considering you can’t get hold of LFTs and people are struggling to book PCRs.

Dangerous game.

Oh no what will happen if healthy kids who aren't ill can't get tested to tell them if they are ill From a virus that isn't making them ill, what ever will we do????? How about we send them to school and then if they actually become ill (you remember the old days) send them home to stay home at that point 😱

Yes Nicola Sturgeon has already confirmed schools will go back as normal in Scotland

Only if you think kids wearing masks for 6 hours a day is 'normal' Hmm

CallmeHendricks · 31/12/2021 09:03

I see Us4Them have turned up.

DigitalGhost · 31/12/2021 09:14

Christ I hope so. My DD is only 4 but she absolutely loves school & I need to go to work.
Her school & teacher are very much against lockdowns though and have put so many measures in to limit covid as much as possible.

CallmeHendricks · 31/12/2021 09:16

@DigitalGhost, like what?
I can't see what measures are going to be able to stop or even slightly limit this one running riot through school communities.

ScottishTinydancer321 · 31/12/2021 09:17

@Waxonwaxoff0 that’s good. I have a feeling my older 2 school will (i hope it’s a Sen school and they did last term), as they had to close loads of classes. 11 out of 13 kids come down with covid the same weekend!

No.
Fuckedoffisanunderstatement · 31/12/2021 09:20

There is nothing to suggest in the news there is a lockdown coming or schools will be closed.

milkysmum · 31/12/2021 09:21

We had an email from ds primary yesterday to say as far as they know they will be opening, but that the current government guidance is not sufficient to keep everyone safe. From new year they will be introducing their own tighter restrictions that include twice weekly LFT testing for everyone, PCR required for ANY cold symptoms at all and not to come in until negative test supplied, if anyone in school tests positive then whole class including teacher must get a PCR test and cannot return to school without forwarding the negative test to school, and if someone at hone has covid child must not come in for 10 days.

ScottishTinydancer321 · 31/12/2021 09:24

You guys seem to be on the attack. I hope schools don’t close BUT it’s is important to do lft regularly even on healthy children (my son had so symptoms) as there will be vulnerable children and teachers and other adults in all schools. Also if a class gets over run the schools will send that whole class home which is even more unsettling for the kids. Keep school opens but schools do need more provisions to keep everyone safe and also
As parents we need to use our common sense too. The virus has not gone we need to learn to adapt to it.
Also the worry is the nhs, I already can’t get a doctors appointment. 111 has a massive wait time and ambalance as are struggling. No one wants their kid to not have a education.

Best of luck to them with that one...
