I’m starting to wonder if I actually have Covid? Don’t think I felt this bad after first doses, first were AZ and last was Moderna.

I’m achy, shivery, headache and total brain fog, is this normal? Been getting progressively worse all day!

I felt like that after my booster. Fine by the next day, though. It's a good sign - it means your immune system is working!

I had the moderna on Monday and still feel utterly wretched. I had Covid last month and this felt the same and I feel back to square one. I was just starting to feel a bit better after Covid. I regret having it and should have waited a bit longer but as I work in a school which is swarming with Covid felt it was the right thing to do and best get it done in the holidays. Hope you feel better soon, paracetamol is your friend.

Hope you are feeling better soon @AthenaWhite. I had suspected Covid in March 2020 and this feels just the same. I work in school too and could really do without feeling so rough, so much to do.

I felt exactly like this after my Moderna booster too. I felt more ill than when I actually had covid and had to take the next few days off work (I never need to go off sick!).

LondonJax · 30/12/2021 18:21

Same here. I did have a reaction like that with my AZ first vaccination, nothing with the second and was in bed with two hot water bottles at 8pm with my moderna booster! Couldn't get warm. But it went by the next day with a couple of paracetamol and 12 hours sleep!

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 18:22

I know three people who have tested positive after assuming their symptoms were booster side effects. Have a very low threshold for booking a test (if you can get one!). The booster won’t cause you to test positive if you aren’t.

Hopefully whatever it is will calm down soon. Flowers

I had the same - couldn't get out of bed for 2 days

wonderstuff · 30/12/2021 18:24

Just changed out of my jeans because they were making my skin crawl. Supposed to be seeing friends for NYE tomorrow, really hoping to start feeling better soon. How do I know whether it’s the vaccine or actual Covid, infection rates are through the roof at the moment Sad

No cough, temperature or loss of smell, but I only had a very brief temperature when I had Covid. Will lft be affected by the vaccine?

I felt horrible after Moderna but it disappeared as quickly as it came on, after about 14 hours...

PlugUgly1980 · 30/12/2021 18:28

I was exactly the same. No side effects with AZ doses one and two, but Moderna booster floored me for 24 hours (maybe less), but did feel so much better the following day so knew it wasn't Covid itself. (I'd tested positive for Covid 2 months prior so was very aware of symptoms).

PurpleDaisies · 30/12/2021 18:29

Will lft be affected by the vaccine?

No. If you got a positive it wouldn’t be because of the vaccine.

wonderstuff · 30/12/2021 18:43

Thanks everyone, have lft tests in so if I’m still feeling rough tomorrow I’ll test. Really hoping this pandemic ends soon, it’s no fun at all!

Here in Ireland you need to wait 3 months to have booster after Covid. I am at that stage now but dreading the side effects as suffered enough with Covid and not wanting any more of those symptoms for a while.
MushroomHunter · 30/12/2021 19:17

Hi I had the moderna this morning and I’ve just went to bed, gotten so wretched as the day went on. I also had the AZ for the 2 shots. I am also a terrible patient and feel so helpless and winey

I better fell ok for tomorrow!

wonderstuff · 31/12/2021 08:47

Feeling much better today, arm a bit sore and skin still sensitive but other than that I’m fine. My skin was sensitive for a long time after actual covid, luckily we were in lockdown and I could wear sweatpants all the time, not sure they’re going to cut it for NYE!

Good to hear you’re feeling better.

I had the sore skin after my booster too. Normally I get it on my arms with viruses but this was all over. My scalp even hurt when I brushed my hair! Had chills as well.

wonderstuff · 01/01/2022 22:02

I had the most horrific hangover this morning, wondering if it was made worse by the vaccine, don’t think I’ve been so ill after drinking and I didn’t feel like I’d gone particularly ott on nye. DD14 said she was told to avoid alcohol at her vaccine but I don’t recall being given that advice. Feeling much better now after spending the morning in bed.
