PCR question….

Hi,
Sorry, I know this isn’t a ‘AIBU’ question but I need some help as my brain is fried!

We’re going to Ireland for a funeral (travelling from England)
Am I right in thinking we need a PCR 48 hours before we go and then the same coming back to England? Or one when we get back to England?

I’m tired and it doesn’t take much to confuse me atm!
Thanks for any help!

I have. I just wanted to double check that what I’d read and understood was right.

like... it depends on your vacc. status and how long you are going for..

Laila747 · 30/12/2021 16:12

We’re both fully vaccinated with booster and going Thursday-Sunday

Looks like no testing at all (to me) if you just go England ->Ireland-> England.

ANTIGEN 48hrs or PCR 72hrs before you leave for Ireland

Antigen or PCR in the 2 days before your leave back to UK

PCR by the end of Day 2 when you land in UK (day 0 = day you land)

If you are clever/don't mind a tight turn around , you could combine the first two of these tests (e.g. an antigen Thursday morning should be OK to get you to Ireland and back to UK on Sunday.

both countries need PLF forms

DO NOT RELY ON THIS ADVICE
