Close contact on Monday

Just heard from a family member that they have tested positive on several lateral flows today and we spent the afternoon with them on Monday.
When are we likely to test positive if we have caught it off them on Monday?
When will be we in the clear and not have caught it after how many days?
Thanks 😊

Ahhh sorry op but it is impossible to say. There is such a wide variation in this. Fingers crossed you don't get it though Flowers

Such wide variation. Most likely within around 5 days but my Dh has just tested positive on day 10 of my DD3s isolation! We've had it in the house now for over 3 weeks in total as it's worked its way through six of us!

I was a close contact of 3 children who literally sneezed in my face ..... never got it

It really does depend. Dp had close contact and he tested negative after 2 days of contact but positive at the 3/4 day mark. Dp didn't isolate away from as was pretty much asymptomatic - Ds for it 4 days later than Dp, I tested positive 7 days after Dp. Dd 9 days after Dp and 2 days after me! Took nearly 3 weeks to get through us all
