Negative tests but feel dreadful

My children have covid.

Today I woke up with a lasting hoarse voice, coughing occasionally. Bit
bunged up nose. Feel tired.

LFT is negative. Went for PCR and negative (results back in few hours as have lab on site).

I know there’s more than one virus but I’ve not been anywhere at all to catch anything.

But if you could have caught covid, you could have caught any virus. So it doesn't make sense you'd accept you had caught covid but you couldn't understand how you'd catch any other viral infection.

I had all the symptoms of Omicron 2 weeks ago but had 4 negative LFTs and 2 negative PCRs so presumably it was something else.

Hope you feel better soon!

I would do another PCR.
They are not infallible, and people shed different amounts of virus.

I’ve only been round the children though. Yes I’ll continue to LFT I think and PCR if symptoms persist x

I've had symptoms for about 11 days, started with strange taste in mouth, bit of a cough.. has progressed to lots of fatigue and aches, slight temp. Day 2 negative pcr. Felt pretty unwell still, Day 8 positive pcr. Several lateral flows... all negative throughout

I think the rest of my family thought I may be faking it all but I knew something wasn't right have been lucky enough not to have a virus like this before. Triple jabbed, all manageable but a rough week
