I tested positive for Covid on Monday. My GP has asked if I want to be part of a trial of an antiviral drug because im CEV. I got randomised onto the medication which is Molnupiravir just wondered if anyone else had had it?

Certain drugs have been developed which can reduce hospital admissions in the immunocompromised. One of them is Molnupiravir.
People in that group have been given a home PCR kit and if they test positive they will be offered one of two drugs depending which is appropriate.

My ex has had a text about it today.

I was asked if I would participate in a drugs trial if I tested positive (also CEV) I said 'yes' - while cheering inside!

My dad has. He has a PCR to take if he gets symptoms and if it's positive he'll get anti-virals.

My understanding is that immunocompromised CEV are given the drug anyway as it has had good results so far in trials, but others are offered the chance to take part in continued trials.

There's also another drug only available to the highest risk group called sotrovimab.

theres two things going on. A trial and target use of the treatments.

The people who are able to get the targeted treatments outside of the trials have been emailed and sent a priority pcr.

Correction. The people IN ENGLAND who are able to get the targeted treatments outside of the trials have been emailed and sent a priority pcr. People on the qualifying list but who live in Wales (not sure about Scotland and N. Ireland) haven’t heard a thing.
