Omicron awful smelling urine?

I flew back from holiday a couple of days ago and have been feeling like death since - temperature, shivering, no appetite, sore throat and, worst of all the most incredibly smelly urine. I have some urine test sticks from when I was pregnant as I kept getting uti’s but they’re saying all my levels are normal. I used my last LFT yesterday, can’t book a PCR until next week and no sign of result from day 2 test yet.

you may very well have a UTI ,unless you have managed to get very dehydrated , i wouldn't rely on left over test sticks as they do go out of date...can someone drop a sample by the GP for you?

As above, try and get a sample of urine sent in to the GP and focus on drinking more.

Same as the above posters - urine sticks go out of date really quickly so I wouldn’t rule it out on that!

I don't think I had smelly urine when I had covid. Although I did lose my sense of smell for a couple of days so maybe I did and didn't notice! Are you staying hydrated? I was extremely thirsty when infected and seemed to be dehydrated no matter how much I drank as I sweat a lot when ill.

I've always noticed an odd smell on the dc's urine when they have a temperature (when in nappies/pull ups) even when we'll hydrated. For years so obviously nothing to do with covid.

I've never researched it but always assumed it was just the effect of urine being warmed by increased body temperature...
