Hi all,

I am 19+3 weeks pregnant and family members have just tested positive for covid.

I am now in a panic as i am likely positive too and i am concerned for the baby.

Does anyone have any story's of having covid at 19 weeks that might put my mind at rest.

I am fully vaccinated and had the booster jab on the 16th Dec.

Thanks in advance

I’m 22 weeks and I’ve tested positive since Christmas Eve. All fine really. I’m triple vaccinated (although booster was only a few days before my son caught it and gave to me so likely didn’t have much benefit from it yet) I’ve had cold like symptoms, sore throat, blocked nose, headache, bit more tired than usual but nothing particularly worrying. I have asthma and it luckily hasn’t affected my lungs at all it’s stayed upper respiratory only.

Try not to worry. I texted my midwife and she told me to stay hydrated and keep an eye on movements. My baby has been kicking away so hopefully she is fine.

The vast majority of pregnant women remain at home with mild symptoms, especially if vaccinated. Try and not panic, it is actually incorrect to assume you will definitely get it, plenty don't even with close contact with a positive case. If you do test positive, inform your midwife. Take care Flowers

I agree with @PrivateHall on that point too, it’s absolutely not a given you will get it. I caught it from my 4 year old (impossible to distance from an ill child!) but my 3 year old who was with us the whole time, drank water from his brothers juice cup, blowing raspberries in each other’s faces etc did not get it, neither has my husband who has not attempted to distance from any of us - so don’t panic you may not get it anyway!
