Since Xmas Eve we have had us all bar one (middle teen) come down with covid. I am the last and the illest (not bad, just feverish, sweats, chills, runny nose, swollen neck, rash, don't think it's getting worse). I am so fed up of it, feel terrible that my 90 year old dad has got it while staying with his (he has had mild cold symptoms and is improving) and my stupid bloody arse of a dh was doing my head in already until I got it and now it's worse. I've had 'you snored like a pig and I had to keep moving you to stop it' yelled at me. I'd just like a little kindness. Onwards and upwards. Thank you for the space to vent.

I’m sorry, it’s so shit. I’m glad your dad is ok ☺️

How old are your kids? Can you hide away for today and chill?

MehMahMoo · 29/12/2021 09:52

Thank you. Kids are 18, 16,14. Oldest is lovely, middle is now isolating from the rest of us understandably, youngest is clingy but with a teenage veneer of sneeriness. I can hide away but they all look to me to lead on things like meals. Hiding away makes me feel crap. But it might be the best way for today. DH just brought me a coffee (nice thing) but impersonated me in a disparaging way (ugly thing), told me I am behaving badly. I am a mess. A big fat mess. I know it.

Sounds like you have a husband problem more than a covid problem. Is he always like this?

Mindymomo · 29/12/2021 10:40

There’s been a few people with Omicron saying they are really irritable, perhaps bad mood should be added to the list of symptoms. Hope you feel better soon.

MehMahMoo · 29/12/2021 10:48

I do have a husband problem, though he would say he has a wife problem! He never copes well with me being under the weather, nor him (tendency to hyper vigilance of his own health).

Agree, maybe irritability should be added to the symptoms. The Zoe app does have low mood in there, which I have ticked. Sorry, feeling quite doom and gloom and just guilty/ashamed, which I know is stoopid. Will go do something nice and chilling now. And get over myself Grin

I'm on day 5 and super grumpy, yesterday I totally lost it and smashed my TV up because it kept switching itself off 🤯

MehMahMoo · 29/12/2021 11:40

Oh my word! That is grumpy (though I feel like that about my watch when it still rings after I answer a call). We are on better terms now we've commiserated over the test and race emails.

Well that made me laugh out loud!!
Sorry. Probably not the reaction you were looking for @Alisonb1234 😬

I had a similar incident with a new tv before Christmas - ended up being operator (my) error.... and I too wanted to smash something! What is it about malfunctioning TVs being so irritating? And I couldn't even blame Covid (although I did blame my DH!).
