Anyone done a drive through pcr test in the London area last couple of days?

Been trying to book a drive-through pcr test in the London area for dc and its showing None Available. Anyone else had any luck? Wondering if it is because its a bank holiday or if I am better off getting one delivered home instead. Thank you.

Just booked one in Heathrow... It's an hour's drive but only one showing for us. I think there's a serious shortage of PCR tests

BalancingStick · 28/12/2021 11:45

Went to Heathrow drive through yesterday. No queues and very efficient.

bestbefore · 28/12/2021 11:46

Can you try and just turn up at one local and see what they say? The one I went to def had people not booked in being tested

BalancingStick · 28/12/2021 11:46

Also meant to say that when I booked it (2 days ago) there was lots of availability

3g4g5g · 28/12/2021 11:52

It's not showing any tests available anywhere in London or surrounding areas. Nothing at all. I would have thought Heathrow would come under London? Absolutely nothing. Well, pcr testing can't be that important then can it!

@bestbefore the ones near us keep changing locations , so I am not sure if they are even there anymore.

I'll keep checking I guess

Go to a walk through one and park nearby?

bestbefore · 28/12/2021 11:56

Whereabouts in London are you? Maybe someone on here will know more about locations?

onemouseplace · 28/12/2021 11:57

@ThreeFeetTall

Go to a walk through one and park nearby?
This. I've just done this for DC - plenty of availability when I booked (south London).

Not a single walk through appointment available either. We are close to Enfield

There's one in Waltham abbey, you might just be able to drop in - corn mill meadows, very friendly - it's a walk in one with a car park

Thank you so much for replying, much appreciated . There are loads showing as available now.

Glad you can see some now. I booked ours at 4am and lots available (Greenwich borough). Tested at 9.45 so just waiting now!

3g4g5g · 28/12/2021 17:09

@thefatpotato thank you. Hope you get a negative test result soon 🤞

If you happened to get a test at Richmond, we got a result within 4 hours recently so would definitely recommend going there if it’s an option.

3g4g5g · 28/12/2021 17:43

@CalmDownBoris72 wow, wish I had booked in Richmond. It brought up the list of drive-throughs closer to home and the earliest appointments available were for tomorrow, so we've already booked for tomorrow. I am guessing they are not going to be as efficient as their colleagues in Richmond 🙄

That's the one I've always used and I've been impressed by their efficiency. The only problem I had was they moved the test centre and, as I'd been there before I didn't bother checking the postcode as I knew where it was. Or so I thought...
