Hand hold - booster today seriously considering cancelling due to previous reaction

Some may have seen my last post where I went to get my booster on 18th December but got told I could not have it as when I was asked if I had any reactions to previous Pfizer I said that I had palpitations of about 110 for a day (my resting heart rate is around 80-90 and been checked by cardiology as fine and normal sinus rhythm just fast). When I mentioned the palpitations she said she could not vaccinate as sounds like it was myocarditis

Anyway a few said speak to GP who did not know so I rang two different clinical lead at two different vaccine sites who said they would be happy to vaccinate as some palpitations without other symptoms such as chest pain etc would not be enough to advise against vaccination.

I am really nervous and totally considering not getting it after all the second opinions on it that I got.

@RobinPenguins yeh I think at the end of the day we just need make a choice

@howley1 where is your data to say it's more riskier than not for kids. I'm sorry I don't agree with that.

@Jabinderarm

My best friend died of clots with his first Az in July 2020.. I've been not right since my 2nd .. feel breathless all the time.. have had an ECG but came out ok.
A friend of a friend aged 39, slim, very healthy and doesn't drink or smoke had blood clots on his lungs after the Oxford . Doesn't help OP just saying that these stories are true .

I should add to my previous post that I’ve had both vaccinations and a booster without any side effects apart from feeling a bit rough for 24 hours after the very first. It’s three months since my booster and I’d happily get another.

Jabinderarm · 28/12/2021 13:03

@hugocat I agree we can't just pretend that there isn't any adverse reactions to worry about even if rare.. look at all the footballers ..

BlueistheNewme · 28/12/2021 13:07

I had 6 months of palpitations, chest pain, breathlessness and fatigue after my second Pfizer.
At one point I passed out during the palpitations.

I’m not having the booster, I don’t want to risk having the same reaction, and not being able to get to a hospital in time to be treated.

I was not anti-vax, but it’s not a risk I want to take. Especially as when these symptoms are passed off as nothing to do with the vaccine.

Jabinderarm · 28/12/2021 13:10

People are too scared to speak the truth as they are worried they will be labelled as an anti vaxxer.

howley1 · 28/12/2021 13:52

@Jabinderarm there's a lot of data published now across the globe which is the evidence used allowing the vaccine role out to be given to children ? That's why they were waiting before giving it to kids in the first place..

Well I went and got it done....the nurse doing it ended up being an ex dance student of mine and really calmed me down. I know what to do if it should happen again

because whilst is is milder in general, a lot of people will still end up needing hospital treatment because of it.

A lot of people? I think we don't know this yet, as omicron hasn't been around long enough.

But the data so far suggests less people are having to be hospitalised with Omicron.
