Christmas Day Positives

Just wondering if anyone else's family didn't bother lateral flowing before Xmas parties and have now tested positive?
Currently on 4 members of my family that have tested positive.
Looks like we were the only ones that bothered to do a lateral flow.

I LFT'd on Christmas Eve, started coughing and sneezing on the evening of Christmas Day and still nervously awaiting an answer. People may have done the LFT and got a false negative - which are common. Although I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd caught it from someone who hadn't even tried!

Oh dear! We did all do (negative) lateral flow tests beforehand but my husband still went on to have a Christmas Day positive. Nobody else yet has a positive result though🤞

It's looking like out of 20 odd people only 7 did a lateral flow on Xmas day Confused

We all did LFT Xmas Eve & Boxing Day - 13 of us. No one demanded it - just seemed the right thing to do ?
The only people who hadn’t done one was my MIL and her partner when we met up Boxing Day - oddly they did demand we do one? I was annoyed as I assumed they had done one but when asked they said no. The fact that we had been very cautious and she has been going to her Zumba classes and meeting friends out and about before Christmas!

You can have a negative and then literally two hours later be positive.

And there is a high incidence of false negatives.

But they are worth doing as it lowers the risk, but they don’t eliminate the risk entirely.

So my annoyance would be reserved just for those who definitely didn’t test.

Noone has been able to get hold of LFTs for ten days here. So the testing without symptoms will probably have to stop. Lots have tested regularly (we did and DD was asymptomatic) but can't see how that can continue without LFTs.

On the plus side everyone we know who has tested positive has had mild or no symptoms.
