Is this covid

I'm waiting for PCR and lateral flows to be delivered. Haven't got a car to get to drive through test centre and can't go to buy more LFTs.

Last LFTs on 22nd before they ran out was negative for all of us. My 3 year old has had a cough and runny nose since 9th dec but all LFTS and his PCR was negative. My 7 month old and I started having cold like symptoms on 20th, I have a bad cough but baby doesn't.

Today my children seem really well and full of beans but I've gone downhill overnight
Feel absolutely shattered, weak, hot with occasional shivers, bad cough and just can't hardly keep my eyes open. Also don't fancy eating which is so strange for me haha.
Luckily DH is fine and is off work to help with kids.

Does this sound like covid? Hoping LFTs / PCR will be delivered today.

I guess what I mean is I know it does sound like covid but has anyone else had these symptoms and it turns out it wasn't?!

Could be, might not be! I had all those symptoms a couple of weeks ago and tested negative (numerous times). Was convinced it was Covid but was just another horrible virus. Feel pretty much fine now and have just had a positive LFT. So who knows! All the other bugs are still going around, some worse than Covid for many.

Everyone has different symptoms. The only way you'll know for sure is with a test. Could just be a cold and cough, could be flu, could be Covid.

My DH tested pos on monday so I was isolating regardless. I started having symptoms on Tuesday (back pain, shivery, upset tummy but none of the classics) and didnt get a positive lateral flow till 24th and positive pcr till Christmas day. I eventually had a very mild cough that appeared after the positive result. It didnt matter as I was already isolating for 10 days. If I were you I'd isolate until you can PCR.

You won't know without the test

Those are the symptoms I had last weekend - positive LFt and then PCR
They lasted a couple of days though - so rest today/tomorrow and you should start feeling better by the 29th

I did lose my sense of smell/taste for a week though - but has meant I didn't gorge myself over Christmas and put on the usual half stone

I would assume you have it until you can confirm either way - take care and rest up!

Thanks everyone. I know it was a really silly question without the test! Due to bank hols might not get any tests until Wednesday I guess. We are isolating until we know either way.
Have found your answers helpful. I've never been good at waiting! Just want to know.

I don't know about PCRs but LFTs seem to be arriving surprisingly quickly at the moment, even on days you wouldn't expect a postal delivery. So, hopefully, you'll get something soon.
