Hi first time post here but long time watcher,

Last week me and my wife both got covid and also our 6 month old son. At first they thought it was a chest infection then a UTI but then the results of his test came back positive.

There was a few days Thursday/Friday where we thought he was getting better and didn’t have a spike in temperature but that came back. He has been projectile vomiting with calpol and we have tried all the tricks but thankfully after another hospital visit yesterday after being so concerned they gave us paracetamol suppository’s which are great.

We are concerned tho how long this can go on? We are both first time parents so it’s all a worry we have never experienced watching him ill is heartbreaking as I am sure yous have all felt at some point. Has anyone had a similar situation?

How long has he had temps for?

drs never ever say no to seeing a small baby as they can deteriorate so quickly so I'd call 111 if you're worried.

Normal colds / viruses can linger on in children but temps that last for more than a couple of days can indicate an infection and should be checked, as should v high temps.

Monitor nappy output rigoursly, wet especially, and make sure baby drinking lots of milk.

It's started 10 days ago today, that's when we caught the virus. He got better on Thursday/Friday then back worse again on late Xmas Eve.

We have seen the doctors & paediatrician twice at hospital after phoning 111 on two separate mornings. They seem to think it's just the virus causing it. He is still feeding on his mum although not as much as usual he is usually a little milk monster as we call him and has wet nappy's etc that we have been keeping a close eye on. Both times the Dr's checked him over they said he look healthy other than the fact he's not well. It's just scary to see him like this.
