Concerned with booster

Houseofvelour · 26/12/2021 19:51

I'm double jabbed and am booked in to get the booster on Friday but have started to get cold feet.
Ever since I heard about the booster, I've had quite an uneasy feeling about it and after reading on here about many people getting heart problems (pain, palpitations, myocarditis etc) I'm completely freaking out and doubting whether I should get it.

If you've had the booster, have you had any heart problems? Is it really as common as I'm reading about?

(Fuck the daily mail)

Dh and I have both had boosters with no issues as have my mum, 3 brothers and my sister. I dont know anyone who've had bad side effects

Haggisfish3 · 26/12/2021 19:54

I had the booster and felt like shit but no heart problems, nor in the scores of others I know who have had it.

Wednesdayafternoon · 26/12/2021 19:54

With my booster (moderna) I had really swollen feet for about 5/6 days. Other then that I was absolutely fine! I've always had swollen feet in pregnancy so not sure if it was just some sort of hormonal response. Everyone else I know has been absolutely fine ♥️

Do you have an existing heart condition OP?

Justkeeppedaling · 26/12/2021 19:55

No issues here either.
I'd prefer to risk the booster than risk Covid. Not that I think having the booster is risky.

I should have said, I have borderline low ejection fraction. Basically my heart sucks in the blood but is lazy about pushing it back out so palpitations and light headedness is common for me. I daren't risk making it worse.

Honestly they may as well have injected me with water, no effects at all

Staffy1 · 26/12/2021 19:57

I haven’t noticed any heart problems after the booster and I have had palpitations and racing heart issues in the past. Just had the same side effects as with my first jabs which was a day of feeling a bit yuck but not awful.

MummyMe87 · 26/12/2021 19:57

Don’t know anyone who has had any issues with any vaccines and I’m a HCP, everyone I know is triple vaxxed

Eightandahalfyears · 26/12/2021 19:58

Absolutely no side effects from my booster.

Nonnymum · 26/12/2021 20:01

Everyone I know is triple jabbed. None of them have had heart palpitations and one of them has arrhythmia. A couple of people have felt ill for 24 hrs but after that completely fine.

Wednesdayafternoon · 26/12/2021 20:06

I'm so sorry OP!
I suppose you need to weigh up what would be more risky... the booster or potentially catching Covid!
Remember that you will always hear more to the negativity/issues then the jabs that went well. I'm sure you will be absolutely fine ♥️
My mum has suffered with palpitations her whole life and has AF heart condition and she was fine with her booster too!

JustKeepSwimmingJust · 26/12/2021 20:08

Had the booster. Had a slightly sore arm for a day. No regrets.

I thought most conditions that increased vaccine risk also increase covid death risk?

Ginfilledcats · 26/12/2021 20:11

I have a mild heart complaint (I'm in my 30s) and had the booster no issues what so ever. Hope that helps.

If it was as common as the Fail likes you to believe it would be pulled or very widely shared. Xxx

I was unwell for 5 days with swollen glands and headache and flue like symptoms but no heart problems . I had my jab on 1 December and have been I’ll more or less since . I don’t think the rest is booster related ( I’m currently recovering from a chest infection which almost hospitalised me ) but it did cross my mind a few times about what this boooster may have done to my immune system as it’s rare for me to be so ill so severely so often.
I’m very pro the jab but now they’re taking about jab no 4 I feel a bit uncomfortable

You poor thing! I hope you recover fully soon!

To those saying about weighing up the risk of covid, I've had covid and just felt a bit rough and lost my sense of smell for a month. Who knows how it may affect me if I were to catch it again but so far, it's one of the milder illnesses I've had.

And I had it pre-vaccines

I had my booster last saturday and started with chest pain on tuesday same thing happend after my first jab but not second (all pfizer) i get a sharp stabbing pain in my chest lasts about a minute then nothing until it happens again been about 5 times a day since. Sometimes palpitations too. Shortness of breath but ive had that since march from having covid so hard to know if thats got worse. Anyway went hospital as was concerned they did ecg and few other checks and dont think its my heart saying it could be muscle spasms which are apparently painful in the chest and dont see the link with the vaccine but wont rule it out as could be a strong immune response to it. Its weird so i suppose you could say ive had pain since the jab but heart problems have been ruled out and is probably just coincidental. Also everyone i know has been triple jabbed and all fine.
Watercoloursky · 26/12/2021 20:27

I felt a bit fluey and achey for maybe a day and a half but no heart issues.

Livpool · 26/12/2021 20:28

I've had no problems at all - and don't know anyone else who has either.

I have a mild mitral valve prolapse and wasn't worried at all.
I had Pfizer

Nina83 · 26/12/2021 20:29

I was fine, but my brother who has heart issues (had a heart surgery a few years ago) said that after his second jab his heart hurt so much he thought he was having a heart attack but it stopped after a few minutes and he's been fine since. He's not keen on getting the booster.

Did you have issues with the first two injections?
What makes you think you'd get worse side effects with a 3rd dose?

I was really unwell for a day with both but nothing else. I had AZ with both so I'm not keen to try a different brand.
