Concerned with booster

Houseofvelour · 26/12/2021 19:51

I'm double jabbed and am booked in to get the booster on Friday but have started to get cold feet.
Ever since I heard about the booster, I've had quite an uneasy feeling about it and after reading on here about many people getting heart problems (pain, palpitations, myocarditis etc) I'm completely freaking out and doubting whether I should get it.

If you've had the booster, have you had any heart problems? Is it really as common as I'm reading about?

(Fuck the daily mail)

OP posts:
itsacovidxmasone · 26/12/2021 20:37

Tired after it but no effects lasting longer than a day for me or other family members.

dementedpixie · 26/12/2021 20:39

I had 2 x AZ and the a Pfizer booster.
Sore arm only with all 3 but Pfizer pain wore off faster

pointythings · 26/12/2021 20:40

5 people in my household, all triple vaccinated. Booster gave all of us a slightly sore arm, a day of being very tired and headachey but that's it.

LibbyL92 · 26/12/2021 20:43

29 had the booster on Monday. Felt like crap for two days and 3 days heart palpitations which has now settled

If it helps I’ve not long been diagnosed with an issue with my heart. Will very probably need surgery, but had the booster (Moderna) on the recommendation of my consultant and no issues. Felt pretty awful after the first AstraZeneca (flu like) but this was so much easier.

I know someone up the page mentioned men of a certain age dying of heart issues but even amongst our acquaintances there have been several men of that age needing bypasses etc. One of which I know was totally unvaccinated. Correlation and causation and all that.

Good luck, being fearful isn’t helpful if you get palpitations anyway ! Guess if you are that worried have a chat with your consultant or gp.

MrsSkylerWhite · 26/12/2021 20:45

12 in our immediate family, including frail elderly, younger clinically extremely vulnerable and teen.
All boosted, no significant reactions at all, couple of sore arms for a day or two as with ‘flu jab.

Hotyogahotchoc · 26/12/2021 20:45

OP I am worried about getting the booster as I had palpitations after first and second covid jabs (Pfizer) and recently I had what seemed to be heart related symptoms like palpitations and a heavy feeling on the chest.

Not sure what to do about it. wondering whether to speak to GP about my concerns about the booster.

LifesABotch · 26/12/2021 20:47

@AdoptDontShop

I understand your concerns OP, but I don’t think Mumsnet is the place to discuss them. I know several people who have been banned for life for posting anything negative about vaccines.

I know 3 men who died soon after being vaccinated, all in their fifties, from heart failure.

This would be my neighbour, my delivery driver who I’ve known for years and my cousin.

My dentist had thrombosis and was hospitalised. He attributed this to his vaccine and is refusing anymore.

I am expecting this post to be removed and so I am taking a screenshot.

Remember that it took 4 years for thalidomide to be withdrawn despite it causing 80,000 deaths and so many deformations. It’s truly shocking.

No doubt my post will unleash scores of abusive replies and perhaps a ban but people must speak their truth.

There have been 9 confirmed deaths in the UK attributed to vaccine complications. That's a tiny tiny number compared to how many doses of the vaccine have been given.

The same with the myocarditis side effect. Yes, it can happen, (teenage boys being the ones mainly affected) but, as studies have confirmed, far more people across all age ranges are suffering myocarditis as a result of having Covid. Myocarditis which spontaneously occurs in the general population is also higher than the confirmed cases following the vaccine.

As you have borderline heart issues, you'll no doubt be asking your HCP for advice.

You definitely should speak to your doctor. Palpitations can be something or nothing, but it's obviously best to get checked out.
ilovesooty · 26/12/2021 20:56

It certainly would be best to consult with your doctor to put your mind at rest.

Hotyogahotchoc · 26/12/2021 20:57

@PAFMO I mentioned it to the GP after the first two jabs and she said as it was just those couple of times it is probably fine.

Since then I was a bit unwell and was concerned that my symptoms correlated with heart attack or myocarditis symptoms. I didn't do anything and have been fine since.

I had palpitations while pregnant but don't recall having had them since.

I wasn't sure whether to ask the GP but I definitely don't feel comfortable having the booster until I do.

I'm not sure what they would do though. I guess just an ECG?!

Boofay · 26/12/2021 20:58

Most of my friends and family have had the booster now. I don't know if anyone whose had anything heart related happen after the booster. Voice your concerns with your GP, best person to speak to.

I remember getting them when I was pregnant. It is scary.
I would definitely keep mentioning it. Best to be safe than sorry.

JassyRadlett · 26/12/2021 21:06

OP, I had a Pfizer booster after AZ. Both doses of AZ gave me proper flu symptoms for a day or so; Pfizer was a breeze in comparison. Sore arm and a little tired.

I have a history of tachycardia if that’s relevant to your own heart concerns. I know dozens of not more people who are boosted with no ill effects; I do know a few who have had a horrible time with Covid including one friend who had it last Christmas, had heart and lung complications and is pretty much only back to anything approaching normal in the last few months. He was incredibly unlucky, I know, but it was still scary.

None of those are a scientific sample of course! But you did ask for personal experiences.

(Best to ignore anyone claiming the vaccines currently being deployed are ‘in trials’ or similar; that’s pure misinformation. All vaccines being used in the UK have completed phase 3 clinical trials.)

Derrymum123 · 26/12/2021 21:09

2x AZ and 1x Pfizer. No problems whatsoever with any. Not even a sore arm, the vaccinations didn't hurt when being administered either.

containsnuts · 26/12/2021 21:09

Can't offer advice but I feel the same way, OP. I had 'mild' heart related/blood pressure side effects after first two and quite anxious about going for a third. With recent reports that Omicron may be milder and the vaccine only effective for a few weeks, I wonder if it's safe or even necessary to have a booster.

CrumpledCrumpet · 26/12/2021 21:14

No heart issues caused by the vaccine but I do have a heart condition caused by having covid (pre vaccines).

bringmelaughter · 26/12/2021 21:15

Just a reminder that we have no idea who the people are that respond to our questions on social media and chat rooms. People have their own agendas and versions of the truth. A number of ‘truths’ on here don’t tie with the data.

RoRoYoYo · 26/12/2021 21:17

Of course it's not common to develop heart problems after the booster. Over 30 million boosters have been given!

Chakraleaf · 26/12/2021 21:18

I'm a bit nervous about it tbh also.

Moolia · 26/12/2021 21:19

I developed tachycardia after having covid in March 2020. No issues after 3 vaccines.

MajorCarolDanvers · 26/12/2021 21:20

Only side affect was a mildly sore arm for a few hours.

Fetchthevet · 26/12/2021 21:21

No reaction from me, and I have had heart related issues in the past (not to do with any jab).

I'd be more worried about you reading the Daily Mail - now that is bad for your (mental) health.
