LFT - sore nose

Does anyone else get a sore nose from LFT tests? I'm not rough but my nose feels like it's on fire afterwards! I'm currently testing every day after being in the office with someone who tested positive (my choice to test, not contacted by T&T) and I'm fed up with a burning nose! I don't think I'm doing anything wrong with the test.

Tomorrow will be a week since I was in the office so that'll be my last test and after that I'm only doing them if I see vulnerable family!

Nope. Been doing them for almost a year now. Never had a burning reaction. None of my family have reported that either. Are you always using the same brand?

The only ones I've used are Flowflex. I've got some of the old ones but I haven't used them as I can't swab throat but I might try them as the NHS website says they can be used for nose only. It's really putting me off doing them to be honest!

I had to get some nose steroid spray from gp for a painful nose/blocked nose, and I swear the 2 a week lfts I was doing was causing it or at least making it worse. I had blood on my lft earlier this week from one and I didn't even push it up that hard. Maybe your nose is blocked?

Yes I get this! I haven’t found a solution but you’re not alone. I have to make sure I alternate nostrils each time I do a test so that the burning is at least only on one side!

I've had an almost permanently bunged up nose for a few years now but I've put it down to allergies. Thinking back I'm wondering if it's anything to do with an accident I had a few years ago when I was hit in the face with a medicine ball. My nose was very swollen and I'm thinking it could have done some permanent damage.

When I use the swab it feels as though it's too big for my nostril if that makes sense (I know it isn't!). The strange thing is when I've had a PCR it's been fine, although I suppose it's only a one off. Thankfully tomorrow is my last test until Saturday so I can give my poor nose a rest!

Aren't you supposed to do both nostrils @Blueberry40? I've got the Flowflex tests and I'm sure it says do both sides.
