Vomiting

Hiya has anyone else suffered with vomiting during COVID? I tested positive on Christmas Eve and felt ill with headache etc. On Christmas Day I had a small amount of Christmas dinner but about an hour later suffered with really explosive vomiting.
I’m just wondering if it is the COVID or something else?

It's covid. It's listed as a symptom now on the test and trace thing you have to fill in.

My son has been poorly with it and has had vomiting 🤢 he's only 10 and has had it quite badly which has surprised me as thought kids were ment to get a milder dose. Hope you feel better soon

UserBot · 26/12/2021 13:04

yes, that's how I deduced I had it.

(I mean, I still don't know for sure, no tests available but I had a headache for two days, bit of a runny nose and flashes of a sore throat. Then on 24th I woke up and vomited, then vomited again an hour or two later). Then I was ok.

florentina1 · 26/12/2021 13:09

Yes I have vomited too. I have all the symptoms but have two negative tests. I am isolating just in case.

snackcurator · 26/12/2021 13:10

Tested positive on Wednesday. Mild symptoms but really nauseous today. Haven't been sick but have that nauseous stomach feeling.

You can't possibly know that. DD has been vomiting on and off for a week and it's not covid - she's been tested.

OP, get tested. Nobody here can tell you whether it's covid.

Hi All - I have tested positive on a lateral flow (I mentioned in OP) I just was wondering if it was COVID related or I had something else wrong on top of COVID.
Our postal PCRs have just arrived so will do them shortly.
Thanks for the comments, I am reassured.

Yes - vomited sporadically over 3 days. I know some others who have coughed themselves sick, but this was proper nausea and "upchucks" as my dad calls them Grin

I had exactly this. So did my DD. Explosive vomiting. I also had diarrhoea (sorry TMI!) the good news is the vomiting only last one evening. Otherwise we’ve both just had minor cold symptoms (slightly sore throat, bit of a cough etc). I did wonder myself if we had both happened to pick up something etc in addition to the Covid, but I’m pretty sure it was Covid. A lot of people have nausea and vomiting it seems…
Bizawit · 26/12/2021 20:23

*should have clarified- I was Covid positive

Lindy2 · 26/12/2021 20:28

My 2 children had vomiting as their main symptom. It was fairly intense but only lasted a few days.

I had dreadful nausea but wasn't actually sick. Covid did give me an ear infection though which may have caused the nausea (it really is the virus that just keeps on giving with the variety of symptoms ).

I do also have 2 friends that needed a&e treatment because of the level of vomiting they had. Both were very well looked after and whatever the medical professionals did it really helped them. They didn't need to be omitted and both recovered well.

Bouledeneige · 26/12/2021 20:48

I didn't vomit but I had stomach pains, and couldn't eat much alongside the headaches and cold symptoms.

TheFutureIs · 26/12/2021 21:02

Both times I've had it I've been sick

I didn’t mention the diarrhoea- lucky when vomiting I made it to the bathroom as it came from both ends at the same time!! I ended up just getting in the shower fully dressed to clean myself up. I was a sorry mess!!

I had diarrhoea & mild nausea, no vomiting thankfully. DH had horrendous vomiting, unclear if it was caused by the coughing or not, he also had diarrhoea but not as badly as me, mainly because he couldn't keep anything but sips of water down for well over a week. I lost about half a stone & he lost about 20lb. We both lost our appetites for about 4 days before the other symptoms really hit, it wasn't good. Except we're both less overweight than we were! Grin

Bizawit · 26/12/2021 21:25

@Monsterpage poor you!!! Are you feeling any better?

Monsterpage · 26/12/2021 21:28

I’ve slept for most of today and been drinking water. Feel shocking but feel it will pass. I was absolutely petrified of getting COVID after a dear colleague died of it in Jan (before vaccinations etc) so feel very lucky that I’m coping ok.
Wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy though - it’s the pits!!
