Tested positive... some questions

Hello all and Merry Christmas!
I have tested positive for COVID-19 (Thursday). I was okay for the first day then felt absolutely crap (body aches, chills) and today I’ve lost my voice. I’ve also got a sore throat but no changes to smell or taste. I’ve also just had surgery as well (literally a weeks ago) plus we’ve moved houses so a lot has been going on. I have a few questions:
-if test negative on day 7, can I end my isolation? Asking this as I have a 4 year old who is so far okay but he will not let us test him so I’m not sure if we will know if he has it or not at the point when we end our isolation.
-what have you done to feel better (specially if you had a sore throat or lost your voice?
-do I still need to get a booster?

Sorry you've got Covid over Xmas, and hope you feel better soon!
I can't answer all questions as have t had covid but can share this-
You need to test negative on a lateral flow for 2 consecutive days to end isolation on day 7- so a negative both on day 6&7, if positive on day 6, you then can try for negative on day 7& 8 and end on day 8, and do on
You don't need to test your 4 year old and they don't need to isolate. May be worth avoiding any vulnerable people though as most people I know who have had it have passed on to family they live with- not always symptomatic
Yes still get your booster- but check how long after Covid you have to wait- I have a month in my head but that could be wrong
Hope you feel better soon

I have tested my kids in their sleep without disturbing them if that's worth a try
