9yo sinus headache and rash on forehead

She's day 12 post covid. Had otherwise seemed to have recovered. Started with white pimple like raised bumps on forehead this morning. Not sure if this is common or not. She has started complaining of headache around nose this afternoon. I am day ten and also have an awful sinus type headache with pressure all on left side of face. My nose feels weird and inflamed inside. Anyone else experienced similar? Do we need to worry? I've read about post covid reactions being really dangerous and I'm very anxious.

My DD had a rash reaction to Covid- I think it’s fairly common in children. Is it like a hives rash? Does it disappear when you put a glass on it?

I had sinusitis towards the end of isolation - always horrible but I managed to control it with:

Massage; from inside out along the top of the eye socket (it hurts but helps drain the gunk)
Sinex nasal inhaler thing
Decongestant tablets regularly

I have needed ABs in the past with sinusitis, but managed to get rid of it with these methods this time. I had a day when it flared up again - bloody mucus; kind of orange and gross - but have otherwise been fine.

@Bizawit it's not really like hives, it's like lots of tiny white bumps, they are raised but don't resemble hives, much smaller. Not itchy apparently.

@AtomHeartMotherOfGod yeah I think I possibly have sinusitis. It's really unpleasant. I wasn't sure whether to use decongestants or not as I find they dry me out too much. I don't seem to have much snot to blow out, just horrible pressure on left side and a feeling like the inside of my nose is swollen up. Plus post nasal drip. Delightful!

Oh I see.. that sounds quite different to what my dd had then, so I’m not sure 🤔 . This virus does seem to produce a lot of weird symptoms. Hope you both feel better soon! Xx

It certainly sounds like it. You aren't supposed to blow much with sinusitis - I think I read somewhere it makes it worse? - but sometimes I just have to. Steam treatments and snorting salt water etc can help. I think NHS has advice - I found it possibly the most painful thing I've ever experienced, that time I needed ABs.

I find with decongestants it loosens things so then you do have something to blow out. Can definitely relate to post nasal drip too. The end of Covid for me has just been really sticky, sometimes bloody, mucus.

@AtomHeartMotherOfGod yes it has really affected my nose and sinuses in a much worse way than anything I've experienced before. My nose was a bloody mess for a while but it has now healed in that respect and I can smell again. This pressure though, ugh.

I think I will just have to monitor dd. She seems fine in herself other than slight headache and a rash that's not bothering her. She may well have sinus issues as well as she has quite a few allergies and is often bunged up anyway. Suspect covid has buggered up both our noses!
