I've tested positive, what are the rules for others in the house?

We were going to meet up with family today, did an lft beforehand and out of the 4 of us (me, dh & 2 dc) I tested positive. We managed to book pcr tests this morning so I've been swabbed.

But the rules are so unclear? I know I now need to isolotate.

I don't think dh (3x vaccinated) does as long as he gets clear lateral flows?

But what about the dc? They are under 12 so have had no jabs, obviously in close contact with me?

We wouldn't plan on the going to massive parties, etc obviously but do they have to isolate in the house? Can they go for walks? What are the current rules?

No they dont, its advised they do LFT daily for the next 7 days. We're in the same boat 3 out of 5 of us are positive, sorry to hear you are to.

Merry Christmas.

Where in the country are you? The rules are different
I’m not sure the rules are really that unclear, at least for England anyway.

lackingchristmasspirit · 25/12/2021 15:52

In England? Yes they can go for walks. In fact technically they can carry on as normal as long as LFT are negative.
DH positive here, the rest of us not so far.

Sorry about the positive test, that’s really miserable. Flowers

Depends where you are in the UK. In scotland all of you are supposed to do PCR tests and isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status

Sorry xpost

In England they're free to go out and about as normal. I'd check that everyone else is comfortable seeing them.

Hope you're ok, OP.

Just adding my sympathies. I tested positive this morning on lateral flow too. Partner negative. We have also both been for pcr,s this morning and cancelled all our arrangements. Test centre was quite busy so don’t think we are alone in this today. Answering your question, in England from reading the website it looks like everyone under 16 or with negative pcr’s can carry on if double jabbed I think
