I’m about to lose my mind. How are other people coping? I’m a teacher in specialist provision so we’ve been open throughout the pandemic. So upset I got to the Christmas holidays and tested positive as soon as the holidays started and now can’t see my own friends and family.

Stuck at home with a 3 year old who is driving me bonkers. I haven’t got the energy to play and have shouted at her more in the last few days than I ever had. She’s just getting under my skin. It’s not even her, it’s me. She’s a lovely girl but I cannot do being trapped in the house.

Same, and were only on day 3. And I've had my family trying to guilt trip us cos they can't see my DD.
We all feel a bit better today, just snotty and coughing a lot, but been cleaning the house this morning and now exhausted and want to nap but cant, and DD is just making everything a mess again. She's 22 months so a bit younger so can't quite grasp independent play as much.

On day seven now with 21mo.

Let’s just say it’s been a special kind of hell, especially when we both felt ill and couldn’t parent properly and were sniping at each other while toddler marauded.

It’s awful isn’t it? DD is normally ok at playing on her own but has been so clingy this week. I have mild mental health issues and during lockdowns I’ve coped by visiting the local parks. This is pushing me to the edge. I’d been so looking forward to taking her to her first panto as well. This is the first year she really understands Christmas and it has been rubbish not being able to do anything (with friends not even asking you how you are and sending endless pictures of all the great Christmas things they’re doing).

Yep! Dd15 tested positive Monday night, confirmed with pcr wed, I started with symptoms wed, positive lft in avo after neg in morning and been confirmed this avo. I have a 20 month old and he's into everything...especially the Christmas tree 🤣 I have barely any energy, feel completely wiped out and have been up with sweats/chills since 3.30am, he then decided to wake for the day at 5 30, cartoons on my phone kept him amused for all of half hour 🤣 luckily my husband and ds13 are still testing negative so dh has taken over and I've come back to bed...but can't sleep as my nose is so blocked and I'm cold despite having my electric blanket on too! Dh, ds and toddler had pcrs with me last night just to be sure, and their results haven't come through yet despite mine coming in an hour ago so I'm hoping that's a good sign! Poor dd is due to do the 6/7 day tests on Sunday and Monday but it's not looking good, we did one to check this morning as she feels fine....it was darker than the initial test :(
