Registering day 6&7 LFT’s - compulsory?

Anyone know if registering test results is compulsory if you want to be released on day 7? Presumably on gov.uk. Or is it ok to just do the tests and if they’re negative, crack on?
Obv if still positive, I will just keep isolating and testing until I get 2 consecutive negative days.

Tomorrow is day 6 for DD and I'll be registering them if they're both negative.

LividLaVidaLoca · 24/12/2021 15:47

I don’t think it’s that joined up.

I’ve had negatives day five and six so expecting to get one tonight. Can’t be arsed telling anyone.

I'm
Not bothering unless they ask

Day 7 for me and DD today and we both had negative LFTs yesterday and today…I’m fucked if I’m registering them anywhere. We have been out for a walk today and it was glorious!

TheSmallAssassin · 24/12/2021 15:57

Why wouldn't you? It takes literally 2 minutes.

AD80 · 24/12/2021 16:00

I don't have the app so I wouldn't register them. The news came a bit late for me though as my first day out was yesterday 😅

Plumbear2 · 24/12/2021 16:04

Yes you are supposed to register them.

BurnedToast · 24/12/2021 16:04

I never register negative results , can't see the point.

SamMil · 24/12/2021 16:05

We registered them just in case, but I couldn't see a rule anywhere saying you have to

Mindymomo · 24/12/2021 16:06

I would hope everyone would register, then maybe in time they will decrease the isolation period even further if it shows that the majority of people are testing negative on days 6 and 7.

Wilkolampshade · 24/12/2021 16:11

Not compulsory no.

TheSmallAssassin · 24/12/2021 16:21

The more data we have, the better the decisions we make. Just do your bit! You don't need the app @AD80, you register using the website. Like it tells you to in the instructions.

Plumbear2 · 24/12/2021 16:22

Well I thought it was compulsory but after a search I carnt see anthing that says it is 😕 so who knows?

BunsyGirl · 24/12/2021 17:21

If you register them and are still positive does that mean you are counted twice in the case numbers - i.e once for the original test and again when you are still positive?

TheSmallAssassin · 24/12/2021 19:00

@BunsyGirl

If you register them and are still positive does that mean you are counted twice in the case numbers - i.e once for the original test and again when you are still positive?
I doubt it, both will be stored against your NHS number.

It’s still guidance because the regulations won’t be changed til parliament sits but they would like you to.

Please register the negative results, it helps with the data. A family member crunches the numbers to give to the policy makers. Non reported negative results makes it all the more harder to make sense of the rates.
