Covid in pregnancy

Can anyone reassure me with how they have been with COVID during pregnancy?

My 4 year old had symptoms and tested positive on Tuesday. He was very unwell for one day and then completely fine. Obviously he has been all over me so I was pretty much expecting to get it. I’ve had a very mild headache and a slightly sore throat for a couple of days and just done a lateral flow test which has come up positive this morning. I’m 21 weeks pregnant and wondering how others have been during pregnancy.

I’m triple vaccinated (although only had my booster last Friday so probably not got enough immunity from that yet) otherwise reasonably good health, normal BMI, very mild asthma. Just hoping I don’t get it too badly.

Yes! I had it pre-vaccines last November at 32 weeks. I was really tired, had a fairly mild cough and lost taste and smell for a while. Took a few weeks to recover, but DH (who also got it at the same time) and I had our toddler to look after, so we never got time to properly rest. Last year isolation was 14 days for the whole household, so nobody could help us look after her. It was so so tiring. Baby was completely fine, arrived late at 41+6 and is 11 months old now!

I had it at 17 weeks pregnant, unvaccinated, and I wasn't unwell at all. I only tested because a colleague I'd been around tested positive. I only ended up having a runny nose, sneezing, then the usual loss of taste and smell. I got very bored having to isolate as I felt fine! I hope you find the same x

Thank you this is reassuring.

Sorry to hear you were unwell @Covidwoes it is so hard when you are ill with a child to look after isn’t it? Very glad to hear the baby was ok.

That’s great to hear you weren’t particularly unwell @Trinacham. So far I’ve only got a sore throat. Seeing how ill my little boy was (although only for one day!) made me nervous but so far so good. Baby is still kicking away too.

I’m sure you will be fine. Stop worrying x
