Husband PCR positive, I'm LFT positive (x2) but negative PCR (x2) and same symptoms?!

I know the obvious conclusion is that i have covid, but I don't have confirmed covid until I get a positive PCR which I'm just not getting and obviously would like that for the right sickness leave from work?

Did you use flow flex? I’m negative on old style lateral flows and positive on flow flex. Waiting PCR and praying it’s negative. If I’m negative on PCR I’m going with that regardless of positive laterals.

No not flow flex. I'm using IVD throat and nose ones.

You have Covid.

The fact is that it is entirely possible for PCR tests to show false negatives, even with 2 x test. IF you have symptoms, and IF you ALSO have positive LFT then you can safely conclude that the PCRs are simply wrong.

If a LFT shows positive then the chance of no virus being present (ie false positive) is very low. Correctly done, the accuracy of a LFT is as high as a PCR.

It is time that HMGov's advice was adjusted for these tests.

I would highly suspect you have covid and act accordingly, and take another PCR. It took three pcr's before mine showed up. I had all the symptoms and I KNEW I had it, but the first two tests were negative.
