Has anywhere started doing seco d doses for 12-15? I know they're all eligible, but have any of them had it yet?

Just seen an ad for local walk in clinic next week for 12-15s.

cheninblanc · 23/12/2021 21:35

My dd is having hers next Tuesday

Watsername · 23/12/2021 21:41

Yes. DS had his second yesterday.

Winterlude · 23/12/2021 21:44

I got a letter today inviting me to book DD's 2nd dose online.

Watapalava · 23/12/2021 21:50

there are loads of teen walk in places near me for second doses. Theyre even doing first doses 28 days after covid here (meant to be 12 weeks)

MintJulia · 23/12/2021 21:55

Yes I got a letter today for 13yo ds.

He can go to a walk-in centre as of today.

Sadless · 23/12/2021 21:55

My son received his invite by post this morning and I am in the North West.

Thank
Sal

Got a text through with an appointment for DD1 for Jan 4th this evening. Unfortunately we'll have to cancel and rearrange as she had Covid at the beginning of the month and I understand you need to leave 12 weeks between infection and vaccination (I think). We're in Wales btw.

BewareTheLibrarians · 23/12/2021 23:27

Ds (12) had his second today, after we got a text from our gp surgery letting us know slots were available.

I’d previously been looking on the vaccination booking site, and it only bought up options 40 miles away. When I clicked on the link in the gp’s text however, we got an appointment just down the road, so it might be worth waiting for a text to come from your gp if it hasn’t yet.

(Also for the 2nd time he’s had barely any side effects, whereas I had my booster yesterday and needed my dressing gown of doom and a ton of hot water bottles to get through today. 12 years old are strong!)

BewareTheLibrarians · 23/12/2021 23:28

*12 year olds even.

Charliesgotachocolatefactory · 23/12/2021 23:29

In Scotland you can just go to any walk in clinic.

savagebaggagemaster · 23/12/2021 23:43

How much time needs to have elapsed between doses?

Watapalava · 24/12/2021 00:20

It’s 12 wk between doses unless vulnerable in which case 8 weeks

It’s 12 weeks after covid but my gp surgery doing it after 4 weeks so it may just be advice

EmmaGellerGreen · 24/12/2021 00:22

Ds had his today, about a week earlier than 12 weeks after the first.

We got letters for ds1 and ds2 today. 2nd jabs booked for middle of January.

BluebirdHill · 24/12/2021 00:28

Got the letter inviting us to book it today. The first date available near us was the 28th Dec I think.

Thank you for that info. My dc had covid in September so couldn't get their jabs until October holidays. This means they won't be able to get their second jab until January 20th. Sad
Hamjamwich · 24/12/2021 16:38

Had some trouble finding a drop in centre but got it done on Wednesday.
Will the school vaccinators know who had their second jab? So they don't do it again in error ?

I imagine the child would say. Mine aren't quite at 12 weeks yet, but will get them as soon as they can. We have booked them in.

rainrainraincamedowndowndown · 24/12/2021 16:44

Letter came few days ago but I have already booked it for mid Jan, thanks to someone's thread on MN.

Howshouldibehave · 24/12/2021 16:45

Mine has had the letter but it’s not yet been 12 weeks since the first jab

Garysmum · 24/12/2021 19:19

Mine had theirs 3 weeks ago as I am CV. L:ocal clinics now offering it

Monkeytapper · 24/12/2021 19:41

I booked my sons on NHS website for end of Jan
