When do T&T get in touch

Just got positive pcr test results yesterday. Just wondering how soon and by what method T&T get in touch. Not that I’m looking forward to all the faff on mind.

Test done at the hospital where I work so don’t know if things are done differently because of that. Or has the system crashed with 120k new cases?

I got a text and email a few hours after my positive result. I didn't get any calls from them at all, I think this was because I filled in all my contacts and movements online. I got a text and email every couple of days checking in but that was it.

I actually just this minute got a text asking me to enter my results on the COVID-19 app but I don’t have the app.
What will happen next? x

We got the results around lunch time. They phoned around 5pm, I explained it wasn’t convenient, could they call back at 7.30 and they did. I was on the phone for about half an hour.

I didn’t log with NHS app although we do have it. They never asked me to either - that was last Friday.

I never got a phone call! I had a call about 36 hours after registering my positive LF asking me to get a PCR (which I had, and had the results but it hadn't shown up on the call handlers system yet). Got asked to fill in my details/close contacts online and got told my end date of isolation and that was it 🤷‍♀️. No further calls or anything.

I'm in Scotland so it is a different system though.

Borisblackcat · 23/12/2021 21:38

Can you do it online rather than on the app?

Me and dp never got a phone call. Just filled in details online. The link came through not too long after positive result!

Maggiesgarden · 23/12/2021 22:54

Not sure. I’m waiting for contact too from a recent test.
The COVID-19 app is out of date as well because it only has the original 3 symptoms on there and because I didn’t click on any of them (no temp, cough or loss of smell) it calculated my isolation from the date of the test and not the onset of symptoms. I deleted it. Gone off on a tangent here but I’ll probably just wait till they ring.

Me and DH never got a phone call. We just had to fill out a form online. I only got calls from T&T for our 3 children. Hope your feeling ok.

SockFluffInTheBath · 23/12/2021 23:04

DS15 had a PCR on Tuesday, got a positive result yesterday afternoon. T&T called me (listed parent contact) this morning and asked for names of close contacts.

Borisblackcat · 24/12/2021 10:20

Just got email link this morning so done it online. Hope they leave me alone now.

I think it varies hugely. My 16 year old DD tested positive last Friday. (Scotland) She had a text and email, and the email asked all household contacts to register for a PCR, which we did. We were also asked to let her school know, which we did.

We all tested negative and apart from the standard school text saying "A positive case of Covid-19 has been identified in your child's year group" that's been it. No more texts, no emails, no calls to make sure she's staying inside.

Exactly this for me. I’m in England for reference.

Never got a call just got an initial text and then once I had completed everything got a reminder to isolate and then one a few days later saying ‘thank you for isolating’

My DS and I both tested positive last week - the Test and Trace person said they are only calling about children at the moment as they’re so overwhelmed. As an adult you complete the online form (doesn’t have to be the app - there’s an ordinary link in one of the thousands of emails).

DomingoinLittleOakley · 24/12/2021 11:35

DD tested positive on Tuesday, but we have only had texts and emails asking for details to be entered into the NHS app. I haven't done so, because my test was negative and I want to be going out and about so don't want the app on my phone pinging people.

Hoping they will either leave us alone, or send me a link to fill in details online, Everyone she's been in contact with in the last week has been told by us, so I can't see the point of filling in the details as all it will do is send us all a message telling us what we already know.
