So we all had covid 13 weeks ago . DH had the cough some good/bad days with it . Contacted GP 3 weeks ago as he was feeling lousy with it and was due booster ,Gp said quite normal with cough to linger and fine to get booster but would send him for x-ray .

Anyway seemed it was getting worse again and effecting him at work so prescribed antibiotics and inhalers and wanted to see him in a weeks time to do checks and x-ray results.

Went yesterday x-ray clear which was great news ! but when you blow into that instrument don’t know name that reading was low , she’s saying cough connected to covid has prescribed steroids as he had pain in middle and they will help with any inflammation, will see him on 8th jan and if no better will refer to long covid clinic .

Has anyone had this problem and cough has eventually gone or have ended up at covid clinic. It’s awful , he couldn’t come cinema with us at the moment no-one wants to be around someone with constant cough .

It sounds like he may have long covid if he's still coughing after 3 months.
I have asthma and a chronic cough so I know how anti social a chronic cough is.
I was hospitalised with covid but the "covid cough" only lasted about ten days and ironically my "normal"cough is much better.

This sounds a bit like what I'm having now. Had covid with a cough and now every time I cough I get a pain right in the middle of my chest. It's starting to worry me

DS 17 has had a persistent cough since having Covid in August not helped by all the other colds he’s caught going back to school. I am fairly certain he’s had long Covid as a result since he’s been wiped out most of the term, frequently falling asleep as soon as he comes home.
Term finished last Wednesday and he does seem to be recovering. Cough is almost gone and he’s awake much more of the day, also has motivated himself to start doing weights. He has started using protein supplements this week which may be helping, who knows. He does a lot of sport so I don’t think his body has really recovered. I’m hoping a couple of weeks of rest, low stress and good diet will help

Really hard as a lot of cold and coughs going around . Some days you think it’s getting better then starts off again , but has been there since covid. He’s got 5 days on steroids so will see next week . @trackandtracet yes the pain was worrying him a bit , GP thinks that’s inflammation.
