Chest pain with covid

Has anyone with covid had quite bad chest pain every time they breathe in? I'm getting really sharp pains in the middle of my chest with every deep breath and struggling to lie down due to it. Anyone any tips to alleviate this?

There are breathing exercises on YouTube, for Covid.
Basically, keep it slow and gentle. I had two bad nights with it but I'm asthmatic and could use my inhalers.

Can you call 101?

Also do you have one if this oxygen monitors to keep an eye on your oxygen levels?

You should get some medical advice

119 for covid advice

Yes, that was the main symptom I started with. Was also straight through to my back. Pleased to say lasted one day. I did speak to a doctor as it was unsettling so I would do the same for reassurance

Get medical advice. Obviously this is a do as I say, not do as I do situation. I had left side/ central chest pain with covid and I ignored it..
I was fine, but it's pretty daft to ignore chest pain.

Yes I did. It was a blood clot. Not saying yours is at all but wouldn't hurt to get some medical advice.

Porcupineintherough · 23/12/2021 06:51

Yes. With me it was costricondytis (might not have spelled that correctly, basically swollen cartilage at my sternum) but as previously posters have said, you need medical advice because things like myocarditis are a possibility too.

SilverGlassHare · 23/12/2021 06:56

I was also diagnosed with costachondritis post covid. It still bothers me a bit when I’m tired (had covid in November)

Bagelsandbrie · 23/12/2021 07:35

Chest pain always needs medical advice even if you think it’s related to covid. If it is a chest infection or pleurisy you may need steroids and / or antibiotics.

Berlinkreuzberg · 23/12/2021 07:41

Costochondritis tends to cause tenderness to your sternum or outer edges of ribs.
Pleuritic pain on inspiration due to chest infection
Pain on inspiration and lying down can be sign of PE but also symptoms like shortness of breath and spitting blood stained phlegm. Have you taken some simple analgesia like brufen and paracetamol ? Try a hot water bottle to the area. If no improvement ring 111.
