Constant faint lines

So I alway have a faint line on a lateral flow. I posted a while ago, but it was so faint like hold up to the light faint. PCR negative.

These passed 2 weeks I've done one every day (sometimes 2-3 in a day whilst waiting for PCR results) and I always have a faint line. I've done 2 PCR tests in the last 10 days. Negative.

My husband and children are doing them from the same pack and their tests are very negative. Even shining a light on them there's no line.

Any idea why mine have a constant faint line?

No advice but mine are exactly the same! Faint but visible lines on every one, at first I assumed evap lines the rest of my family it’s always clear for them but pretty much all I’ve taken had some sort of line - negative PCRs when I’ve been for them.

It's really frustrating as I won't ever know if I get a true positive unless the lines are really dark and my mum is extremely vulnerable so we have to be extra careful.

I did wonder whether there's a possibility we've already had it and it's low levels of the virus but then surely a PCR would pick that up?

No clue. But my DS is similar. He’s had 2 positives followed by 2 negative PCRs a week apart. He did 2 LFTs between which were negative at the alloyed time but went light positive overnight. This doesn’t happen to anyone else in the family.

PrincessConsuelaBananahamm0ck · 22/12/2021 12:13

I have the same issue. Extremely faint grey line on at least half the LFTs I take. My family members never have them. Have been for PCRs a few times, but always negative. So annoying.

I had one super faint line (so faint you couldn't see it without looking directly at it in daylight). The rest were all negative. I tested positive after 6 days on PCR but still nothing on LFT tests. Maybe consider getting another PCR in a day or two?

Yes we are going to go for tests tomorrow morning as seeing mum on Xmas day. I've had the faint lines for about a month now though and no positive PCR. These are light pink too rather than grey. So strange but looks like it's common! Just hard work knowing when to isolate x

Are these flow flex ones?

This happens to my dd with a faint pink line but only when she is actually ill. Now I won’t use them on her if I can help it.

I’ve also reported this on the yellow card scheme as it’s too stressful.

Exact same thing happening in our house! Partner tested faint positive on LFT on Saturday - me and my two boys negative but had a PCR on Sunday - everyone tested negative however my partners lateral flows are getting darker and darker….he has very minimal symptoms (a slight cold) so we’ve been for another PCR today . Me and the boys are stark white negative - in fact my eldest has the worst cold he’s ever had and yet he’s not had even the hint of a line on any of them.
These are using the blue fast flow brand. There’s a green and white brand and he’s tested totally negative on those throughout. It is so confusing to know what to do if this pcr comes back negative also

These are his from Saturday and then again today. The pcr on Sunday was negative so I just don’t know what this one will come back with!

I do have a cold and only test when I've got cold symptoms so maybe it's picking that up x

Mine aren't getting any darker but are definitely visible. Just makes it hard try to interpret them all the time!
