So far, my family has escaped catching Covid.

My DF has gone to see my brother and SIL in the run up to xmas (they have all also not had covid so far) and they had people over on Sunday who have tested positive yesterday for Covid. Stupid I know. My DF, brother and SIL have all gone for PCR tests today.

DF is meant to be having Christmas with my family but if the PCR is negative is that an accurate result if the people they were with only tested positive yesterday?

I'm really worried about DF coming on xmas eve if hes tested negative from todays test but couldn't potentially have Covid but its not shown up properly on the PCR as its too soon. Would a LFT be more accurate if he took it on Thursday?

Me and DH have had all vaccines. I've had booster and DH is due his in a couple weeks but I'm in my 3rd trimester of pregnancy so really nervous we could catch it but dont want DF being left on his own for Christmas.

Yes definitely do a LFT the day before. I had been contact with a positive case. Was negative ok lateral flow and Friday, had PcR Friday night was negative, Saturday morning lateral flow was negative and has been every day since.

So if PCR is negative for all 3 of them tomorrow, get them all to do an LFT on Thursday as well just to be sure and if all still negative chances are pretty slim of any of them having it and DF should be fine to come to mine Friday.

Yes I would. If I had trusted just my lateral flow on Friday I would be walking around with it as I definitely have symptoms. Hopefully will be negative for you all
