Anyone really fed up waiting for results

This is utterly ridiculous. They can’t expect society to just stop while we wait for results.

So fed up.

Yes, my daughter, she went and got tested on sat and still waiting for the results. Government website now says you need to wait six days, it’s shocking.

Misspacorabanne · 21/12/2021 10:54

Yes we are waiting for pcr results from Sunday! Luckily, haven't had to wait this long before, but supposed to be going out with extended family tomorrow! How long have you been waiting op?

OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 10:56

2 days now.

Had to cancel 4 things.

Our whole Christmas plans have been totally messed up by Covid and the small fun things we had planned to start the holidays have also had to stop.

If people are wondering why people won’t test this is why.

Six days!!!

Nope not doing this for 6 days.

Yes exactly! I wish I hadn't bothered testing as we feel fine now! All lateral flows have been negative too.

Catquestion · 21/12/2021 11:00

We’re in the same position here- waiting for results since Saturday and have had to cancel around £100 worth of tickets so far (I’d booked quite a lot, to make up for last year)

I understand there are lots of people testing at the moment but that doesn’t make the situation any less shit.

Sorry to hear others are in the same boat too Sad

Karma1981 · 21/12/2021 11:00

My Daughter was 5 days, we did get her re tested after the 3rd day as she needed a chest x Ray and my husband accidentally binned the barcode so I couldn't phone them up and ask where her test was.
Funny enough the 2nd results still came before the 1st just a day later.

OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 11:03

Yep loads of negative LFT

Have you checked your nhs app? My results were in there late last night but I didn't receive the confirmation text message until 7am this morning.
Triple vaxxed and positive. Great timing with not only Xmas but my dcs birthday tomorrow.

massiveblob · 21/12/2021 11:11

I'm not waiting for PCR test and am relying on -ve LFT as DC no symptoms and although close contact of someone, I'm not isolating her when LFT-ve

massiveblob · 21/12/2021 11:12

@OhDear2200 what was your reason for PCR? Did you have symptoms?

dullgrey · 21/12/2021 11:13

Tested on the 17th, my eldests came through last night - Negative. Youngest came through 6am this morning - positive.

Previous times we have waited up to 5 days.

OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 11:14

Not me my DC and yes had symptoms. The same symptoms they get every year because of their asthma.

Was just about to start a thread about asking about result times, think this confirms we could be waiting a while!

Is this the track and trace app? Or the covid pass one? Or maybe they're the same, I've never had them but might get it if it'll speed things up
trackand · 21/12/2021 11:37

Yes, I waited 54 hours at at the weekend

Eyerollsausageroll · 21/12/2021 11:49

@QuiltedHippo just the standard nhs one that you get your covid pass from. Mine now shows as positive pcr rather than the qr code/pass that usually comes up.
No use if you're waiting on childrens results, but useful for your own.

massiveblob · 21/12/2021 12:01

@OhDear2200 that's very frustrating. DC at our schools who are +ve are displaying tummy ache and snotty noses and maybe a sore throat

OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 12:33

Just a cough and wheeze. No tummy upset, headache or anything like that.

The children don’t seem to get much of a cough with COVID as I’ve read. But of course that’s the guidance.

Vargas · 21/12/2021 13:51

Posted mine on Saturday, I can see they received it early Sunday. No result yet.

Mine was not for symptoms fortunately, just for the Zoe Covid app as they asked me to do a PCR. I'm now feeling bad that I'm clogging up a busy system!

Cheeselets · 21/12/2021 14:12

My LFTs were neg (I did about 10 over a week) but I got PCR result and its positive. So glad I still isolated even tho I was convinced it.would be negative. I know it sucks but its important. Cancelled plans can be rearranged I guess

OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 15:41

Negative!

OP posts:
OhDear2200 · 21/12/2021 15:43

@Cheeselets yep but I’ve now had nearly 2 years of repeatedly cancelled plans. And no many of them can’t be rearranged. Sorry but I’ve actually had enough now.
