Me and my husband tested positive for covid at the end of last week. 3 out of 4 of my kids have become I'll in the last few days but all testing negative for covid. Im confused of how this could be. Regrettably me and my husband haven't been wearing masks at home and it's very possible the kids could have caught covid from us. Worried I'm not testing the well enough or something. We are supposed to be seeing my parents as soon as isolation is over but my dad is high risk. Really worried the kids are positive but we will think they are negative. How likely is it that they have become I'll will normal colds and not covid?

You honestly can't call it - we have both kids who've been positive for days and me and DH are still resolutely negative despite both my little plague rats cuddling me constantly.

PCR negatives?

Redwinestillfine · 21/12/2021 08:22

This scenario is pretty common atm op. Justbe thankful the haven't got it.

Either they haven't caught it or they aren't showing up on tests YET.

My children got it 12 days after I had tested positive and came out of isolation.

Then I had to spend another 10 days isolating with my kids.. was horrendous.

Almost a month inside.

Get them PCR tests. Highly likely they will have covid rather than a coincidental cold.

I’d get a PCR. It seems most people with covid locally currently were negative on LFTs but positive PCRs.
