Dispute with track and trace

Can anyone help.
I positive on Friday 17th. No symptoms just positive LFT followed up with PcR. Ds also tested positive at same time.

Track and trace called and said Ds has to isolate until 27th which is 10 days but I'm being told I have to isolate until 29th because I had no symptoms? But I tested positive by PCR same time as son in 17th so shouldn't I isolate for 10days? Track and trace said something about because I have no symptoms it's the 29th? Never heard this before.
Waiting for someone to call back

It's been that way for ages. Isolation starts either day after symptoms or day of test if no symptoms. This is because the PCR tests are quite sensitive, and there is no way to know where you are in terms of infection. If your son infected you for example, and you have Omicron- then you are basically in the incubation stage and have just picked it up early.

It's right, you go from the PCR date not the LFT if you had no symptoms.

Thanks. So I had PCR on 17th Dec so that means isolation ends 27th, is that correct?
T&t are telling me it ends 29th because I have no symptoms and results come through on 19th but my actual pcr test was 17th so I must have had it then if I tested positive

The T and T police aren't going to turn up on those 2 days.

@RuleWithAWoodenFoot I know it's just really annoyed me, she was so rude

Day of pcr is day zero, not day 1. So I reckon 28th.

My DDs symptoms started the 15th, positive LFT on the 16th, positive PCR 17th, her isolation ends (but including) the 25th.

MuttsNutts · 20/12/2021 18:03

Your isolation ends midnight on 27th, 10 days counted from date test was taken.

T&T are talking theough their hat.

I had a huge problem with test and trace for my daughters test. They basically typed the wrong date in their system (the date of result!) and would not budge on it!! I was very cross but there is no one to listen and she couldn't return to school because of them going by the official text.
And it also made me mad that the person on the phone insisted they work for track and trace when it is test and trace!!!! 😡
