Cancelling booster?

I had a booster booked. However my anxiety got the better of me.
With my 1st 2 jabs. I had bad palpitations for a few days. (not the same as anxiety ones) after the 2nd one they were quite uncomfortable and I felt like 'I was swollen and heavy in the heart area' is the only way I can describe it.
I reported on the yellow card scheme. Didn't call gp as I thought I'd sound stupid.

So back to my booster. I booked it for this evening Went to cancel it 1st thing this morning. And all the website said was you can cancel this appointment tomorrow! But that would have been a day after the appointment. Tried to call and waiting time was ridiculous and I had to drive so hung up.

Has anyone else had same issues.

Yep the websites sends you around in circles and the text that says reply cancel to is from nhs no reply!

Are you using the NHS website? I used the manage my booking option to cancel my booster (got offered an earlier appt at GP) without any problems. That was on Friday evening last week.

Was reading another thread about this. Seems it’s almost impossible to cancel so the only other option is to not to attend your appointment.

I know with the first vaccines it didn’t seem to matter what your appointment time was you just got put in the queue as you turned up.

Have heard lots of people say that those with an appointment time for the booster we’re placed alongside walk ins therefor it was pretty much first come first serve.

So wouldn’t imagine that your unused appointment will go to waste.

You'll probably get worse heart palpitations if you get COVID. And to protect from Omicron, you'll need the booster. Don't cancel!

Agreed.

You can't cancel online if it's on the same day unfortunately.

It’s entirely the ops choice. She didn’t ask whether or not she “should” cancel. She asked for advice on “how” to cancel!

I have a booster booked for 4th Jan but I went to a walk in clinic yesterday and got it earlier as I am 35 weeks pregnant and didn't want to risk not being able to get the booster if I go in to labour early, just went on the NHS site to canc appointment on the 4th Jan but it's saying 'you do not need to book an appointment' but I've clicked manage appointment?? Any ideas?

Mindymomo · 20/12/2021 12:45

You cannot cancel for the same day, but you will be able to book again when you feel able to.
